The Amida Society (AS) in the Los Angeles County, California was established and registered on January 8, 1990 as a religious nonprofit corporation as described in Section 501(c)(3), 509(a)(1) and 170(b)(1)(A)(i) of the IRS, and Code Section 23701d (Church) of the Revenue and Taxation Code of the State of California.The primary purpose of the Amida Society is to share the benefits of Buddhist education by distributing educational materials, providing lecture classes, seminars and retreats, and establishing a superb environment for practicing and studying, completely free of charge to the public. We believe that education is key to resolving problems, whether big or small, family or societal, personal or global.

謹承民國初年夏蓮居老居士在世界各地成立淨宗學會之遺願，洛杉磯淨業學人於一九九零年一月八日在加州正式註冊登記，成立一個修學阿彌陀佛極樂淨土法門的居士團體。目前經常參與念佛共修與研習經教的蓮友約一百人。
