I have got to see Savatage from the very beginning. Many of the shows were at clubs in the 80's. The band members were often hanging out before and after shows. I went to a release party for "Power of the Night" at First Avenue in Minneapolis and we all were given "Power of the Night" albums. Nothing against Zach but Savatage to me will always be Criss and Jon's band.

Very cult to hear this, only 39 years later 😅 i think there was not much animo for deathmetal around then, but it had to start somewhere and they stepped on the rail of it. Still a lot of speed, that reminds me of the thrashmetal scene.
