Yeah I thought the same initially. Once I got my guitar and started learning, I realized bigger hands/fingers actually help. Chords are still a nightmare but that’s mainly a flexibility issue on my part😂

What about picking the right tubes? I once buying the same tubes that came in one of my amps and it’s plate voltage (I think) was higher than the one that came w the amp and the tech had to bias it hot since it couldn’t go lower due to its plate voltage . So how does one figure out what the right tubes are if different brands run at different voltages right? Also when buying tubes for a 100 watter, am I supposed to find four that are all matched? Or do people just buy two separate matched pairs?

Years they lasted.I haven't changed the tubes yet since I did the video on the amp.I will definitely change them soon though 🤘🤘🤘
@@shredderman37 I just replaced all tubes and biased the amp based on your video, I set it to 70 vm per each side.....
I wish I would've seen your video today before I worked on the jvm210h for my music center. The way you used the cabinet to support the chassis is brilliant. I used their Bias King tube sockets. I could set one side at a time. Made it easy. I like the way you used the connections terminals. That's another way to do it if you don't have a tube bias socket...

Okay so I blew a fuse in my amp and I need to replace it. The amp came with Europe equipped fuses and I’ve been using a Step Up/Down power converter to get it correct with the US fuses. Can I replace the tubes inside of the amp with the US fuses so I don’t have to use a step up/down power converter?

There are 4 screws underneath the head where the rubber feet are unscrew 2 on each side, Place the head Back on the rubber feet. Then grab the Transformers from the open back side and lightly carefully pull it out it may take a little force,just be careful.
Honest question: I have never opened an amp in my life, I have no idea what I'm doing inside one, and one of my output tubes has gone. How likely am I to do something stupid doing this myself?

I was told by the tube store anywhere from 70 millivolts to 80 per side on a 100 watt jvm.

Do you really mean 35 per side? Or rather 35 per tube? Because with two valves per side on the JVM 410, wouldn't you need 70 per side so that each tube gets 35?

Hi sorry for the delay ,it's anywhere from 70 to 80 millivolts per side I was told from the tube store for the jvm 410h 100 watt ,it's up to you on where you think it should be set that sounds best to your ears,but anywhere between 70- 80 per side will work.so for a 50 watt jvm it would be anywhere from 30 to 40 millivolts per side because it's only one tube per side.hope this helps,thanks for watching.
Yes. 36mV per tube is ball park
shredderman I set it to 60 per side back in 2018, so that's 30 per tube. A pretty cold bias, but it works quite well for the JVM, I've found. At least for metal, where you often want your clean channel completely crystal-like, and then have the high-gain channels for contrast. If you're doing classic rock / blues / anything that requires more crunch and warmth, 70 per side seems reasonable.
