How Many Kanji Can I Learn In One Day?
Duolingo is probably only best as an aid to online classes.
I saw my friend trying to learn Japanese with duo, the pronunciation is extremely wrong and most of the time, I couldn't tell what my friend wanted to say. Like mixing up white, and castle. Shiro↑城, shiro↓白.
Look i learn russian, and bud. Duo focuses mainly on words and sentences, making you understand its verbs, and i think, being advanced and fluently speaking a foreign laungage is amazing tho, just commenting not hating. Duo is great for a really reallt beginner+ you can adjust your level too
Duolingo is (even one of the creators said it) an app you use in combination. It trains continuity and returning to the subject Language, that is important when books just bore you But it's not a sole use app!
Konnichiwa!
I think Duolingo + other things like genki books, immersion could get you to speaking it. But being fluent probably would be having to live in Japan
Charge that phone😭😭
These are some other good textbooks: Minna no Nihongo, Marugoto, Tae Kims Guide to Japanese, Nakama I used Nakama when I was first learning and while its a solid book its less refined and a little harder to understand than Genki at times Tae Kims Guide is free and has a lot of content but is less organized than your typical textbook so if you prefer being guided through the learning process it might not be for you (its free so no harm in trying it tho 😅) Hope this helps! I haven’t read Minna no Nihongo or Marugoto but they are pretty popular options (if you have used them feel free to comment on your experience 🫡)
Here's my opinion: Japanese is a difficult language and like any language, being fluent it split into four parts; listening, speaking, reading and writing. Listening and speaking tend to be quite easy, i also find reading in hirigana very easy. Writing, however, in a language with over 6000 characters can take a long time. What i think duolingo does well is listening and speaking, and to a certain extent reading. But it is mostly terrible at teaching you to write in japanese. And if you're trying to read anything that's not hirigana or katakana then good luck. I think duolingo does certain things well and others not so well, but mostly it makes it easier to learn which makes it a good tool. However, i wouldn't recommend duolingo on it's own. I'd recommend some sort of kanji practice alongside duolingo for the brunt of your reading/writing learning.
there is no japaness in rosetta stone
Nonono my OCCIDENTAL handwriting sucks. My JAPANESE handwriting is great. I know i can't figure it out either. 😂
Zebra Brush Pen or Tombow Fudenosuke 😉
I haven’t tried the Zebra one but the Tombow Fudenosuke is superb. Ive probably gone through 10 of them by now 😅
I am only learning to talk bc of anime
In short Binge watching anime
Or use both right
Now I know why all my friends watch anime in Japanese❤
Finally youtuber that doesn't just underrate Duolingo, since it's actually can let you understand basics of language
Bro the free plan only allowed me to use the lesson once I switched to airlearn
That was alice in borderland ig
YES I LOVE ALICE AND BORDERLAND I’ve watched the series twice
Guys can yall remind me to do my japanese daily?
Is HeyJapan good? I saw it in the app store and it looks good for learning letters and making sure you can understand it.
Im hopping on anime
I don’t care what anyone says immersion doesn’t work. You need to have a really good understanding of grammar rules and verb conjugation before you can even understand what you’re hearing. Trying to lean new vocabulary from reading the subtitles when you’re watching anime isn’t going to do anything for you. It will do even less if you just watch with no subtitles or with subtitles in Japanese. Ask anyone who says they “learned though immersion” and you’ll find out they studied the language in college or spent hours a day grinding vocabulary and learning grammar but everyone just gushes about immersion for some reason. Immersion would only work if you already have a super strong base in the language meaning you’ve already done the hours of studying for months or years. Immersion makes you fluent. But to become fluent you first have to be proficient which will never come from just hearing the language
THANK YOU!!!! Finally, someone who gets it! English is not my second language, not even third. But i somehow understand it. Immersion is great, but you won't understand shit. Textbooks are so, so important. Cus you will need to understand basic grammar first, knew some words. You can't just jump into Japanese speaking pool, it won't work if you don't have language foundation.
I mean, immersion does work, but not if it's the only thing you do learn the language
I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS COMMENT
Konbawma! LPTforces desu
Id recommend and app called Busuu which is far more in depth than Duolingo, it actually teaches words, all the correct writing and even how emphasising words can be important too, it is free though you may be forced to watch and add becore each lesson, other than that, its soo much better than duo
Ima be watching all japanese godzilla movies. Only 9 left
Watch anime the best way
I have been watching anime for more than 5 years now. And only know ちょっと待って、ありがとう、すいません、and things around that.
こんにちわ
はい!!!
how many pages does genki 1 have?
Where do I get physical copies of the textbooks?
£€~~>+~? Ti
Chinese: 何 hé (My last name (Means what) not formal Japanese: 何Nani (Means what)
I'm not sure if Bunpo added this after you made this video, but it has an AI tutor with which you can do dialogues (either by typing or speaking) and doing lots of different wordgames with the AI. In the dialogue section you have a lot of different roleplay situations to practice speaking. And since it's AI, the conversion is different each time depending on what you're saying. It's a pretty amazing feature.
Do anyone want to contribute in Duolingo family plan??
BROKEN KNEE SURGERYYYY
Ima have to try this after I learn basics…goated experiment
But bro what about beginners......
Bro list some childrens shows then, i cant find any, i search on google and yt and no one says the tv shows just that its a good way to learn
I say do a basic course first, with duolingo. Its fantastic for learning vocabulary and repeating stuff to remember it, but for grammer i find it not so great. I speak german at a very basic level, understand why sentences are how they are and stuff and duo helps with expanding knowledge, not creating it
What about huáng?
Im 300 days in and can speak intermediate german. To note most of my streak is a lesson before sleep but I did have to learn grammer on youtube
Fun fact: 青 in japanese its blue 青 in mandarin its green
bro literally said *'learn japanese or i'll break your knees'*
I appreicate this video.
The inu app leran japanese is sponsored good better then duolingo . Duo scares me and I is a little psychopath it was very stressful but the inu app is so much better end relaxing
I think Melrose is better but I think it would be better if you first directly learn hira kata and kanji
i used both app to learn mandarin, korean, japanese, thai, and arabic, lingodeer provides much more lessons than duolingo, duolingo more focuses on travel phrases, for tourist u can use duolingo but to learn more deeply in that particular language, lingodeer is a better option
nothings better than the original.
Though, It's good to watch it when you're already between N5 and N4 right? Atleast that's what I think and actually proved it myself. I can understand like 30% of what anime characters are saying. Though, there's like a ton of new vocabularies im not familiar. But that's the point anyway, and that's to use it for new study guide.
I Learn German 🎉❤
