Made by Geoffrey Bowman-Jenkins under the "Worboys & Smart" company name, some years before he established the "Bowman" brand. Pretty rare, only a handful of the horizontal Wormars survive. Like everything designed by GBJ it works very well, even after almost 100 years.

This is either a Swan M2 or a Hecton M60, and probably both, as I recreated it out of a mixed pile of spares. Chimney, whistle, safety valve, crank disc and pipe work all newly made by myself, the rest made by the Hobran engineering company of Wolverhampton in the '20ies.

This is the generator made from a set of aluminium castings supplied by Luke Cringle that I have been machining for a good few months. I’ve added a voltmeter and a lamp post, and here it is generating about 8v at a very gentle tick over.

Hi, yes it is. The cylindrical object at the back is a methylated spirit burner, which heats the water in the boiler, which in turn drives the oscillating cylinder engine.

I like this engine - got one (no boiler) myself recently. Have you got any idea how long this engine was produced. I try to find out more about it, but only got the information that it was first mentioned in a catalogue in 1912. Thanks for any information!

I'll have to see what can be done. I'm a bit hesitant to carry out major surgery on a 100 year old engine, but I may be able to sleeve and then shim the crankshaft if the runout's there. I wouldn't want it to shake itself apart.
