Poor's (Witch) bridge
Переглядів 2724 роки тому
The remnants of this bridge buried in the woods used to be a route over the river between two (contemporary) towns, originally all in the early part of Andover, MA. Poor's Bridge in No. Andover, also called Witch's bridge (we just used to call it broken bridge) used to go over the Shawsheen river on the road that connected North Parish Road in Lawrence to Greene St. in North Andover, before the...
Sid Lapworth talks about Luther Perkins - Nov. 8, 2003
Переглядів 4,4 тис.5 років тому
This is a portion of one of several interviews/conversations I had with Sid Lapworth for Scotty Moore's website. In the '50s Sid was the instrument manager at OK Houcks in Memphis and sold many of the area musicians their guitars and such, including Scotty, Elvis, Bill, Johnny Cash and Luther Perkins. This was recorded with permission over the phone on November 8, 2003 and it seemed easier to p...

In September of 2003 after talking to Sid Lapworth, the dealer at Houck's in Memphis that sold most of the musicians their instruments back in the day, I figured I better get a recorder to save some of these dialogs since my notetaking was terrible. One of the first things I recorded with it was a message from Scotty when he called in response to something I was doing for the site about his wor...
Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash and Buddy Holly at Fair Park 1956
Переглядів 1,2 тис.7 років тому
This is 8mm film courtesy Ben Hall that has been in circulation for many years. It is shown often spliced with clips of Elvis, Scotty and Bill which has given the impression to many people it was shot at the same time. Elvis was actually filmed at the Breckenridge, Texas High School Auditorium on April 13,1955. These clips from the collection of Ben Hall I believe to have been taken at the Fair...

Elvis, Scotty and Bill at the Breckenridge, TX High Scholl Auditorium - April 13, 1955. Film © Ben Hall. This clip was originally hosted on Scotty Moore's website and moved here to youtube for universal compatibility. It should be noted that this film was believed to be, and had been accepted as April 29, 1955 in Lubbock, though this is not the stage of the Cotton Club. In this more complete ve...

To guitar greats in the same house, they could have tore the house down

What an interesting conversation thank you for sharing

Omg I love you Elvis he is so cute in interviews from when he was younger
not 5 !!!june 6 1956 scotty moore site no longer updated
That is definitely the April 5th appearance. The clothing and instruments confirm it. This clip though is the June appearance though they mistakenly call it 1957 ua-cam.com/video/kUNJ5Y42oiM/v-deo.html and I update the site as needed
@@JamesVRoy et bien non faut ce mettre a la date il y a 2 gros pave sur sa naissance et fin 1955 qui detail tout le 5 juin aucun show mais bon continue dans le denie
Maybe you can have some one translate this for you. Elvis and the boys played at the Arena in San Diego first in April on the 4th and 5th, before Las Vegas. After Vegas, the boys (Scotty, Bill and DJ) always performed wearing dinner jackets, either red or cream colored with bow ties. The April video in question, among other things shows them only in regular neck ties, no jackets, and Elvis is using his back-up D18 that he stopped using in May. On June 6th he was in San Diego again at the Arena and the link in my former response shows footage from the June appearance, in dinner jackets and Elvis with his leather clad D28. The date as listed in the video and on the page of the site is correct. However, believe whatever you want.
@@JamesVRoy you are in total denial: great books and hundreds of pages have come out on it (dy by day jorgensen or others) (the 1956s of paul belard) and you come behind it to emit lies it is this to make fun of the world and of its real people who worked on it on this goodbye. no serious group club talked about this June 5th! just for milton berle and yes find out!! so you are more aware than JORGENSEN -GURALNICK-LORENTZEN -ENGLISH FAN CLUB AND ITS REVIEW etc etc etc ..bravo.
You like to drop names but offer no data from them that supports any of your statements. I've cited and sourced Ernst and Peter's works many times on pages of Scotty's site and Erik Lorentzen has used a plethora of my material in his publications. He has also been a source for photos at times. Ernst and I have corresponded several times in the last couple of years analyzing and exchanging data while Peter and I communicate often. Paul Belard I am not familiar with. One thing though I can say about the others and their works is they operate on data, the best and most available at the time while you choose not to accept it and as yet you haven't even presented anything from their work that disputes the dates. You bring nothing to the table.
Two beautiful souls...who were part of music history!!!
Actually dewey phillips gave him the biggest or he wouldnt have been heard.
Onions?
No, he is 20
As usual, no interviewer or reporter can put anything over on Elvis. He is polite, respectful, honest, forthright, and very smart and savvy. He handles all these reporters exceptionally well. I’ve listened to them try to corner him and he always comes out smelling like a rose.
Elvis, Scotty and Bill
My mom died at 33 when I was 3 years old. My daddy died at 45 when I was 10 years old. Raised by my dad’s second marriage (a yr after my mother died) to Cinderella’s stepmother-the Wicked Witch of North, South, East and West. It is very difficult losing a mother and father when you are young! Very!! I hope Gladys, Vernon, Elvis, LisaMarie and Benjamin and let’s not forget Jessie alre all sharing in the Glory of Our Lord Jesus Christ in Heaven. ❤️🔥💔🌈🎸🎤🎹🎸🎸🎸🦋🦋🦋🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️❤️🌹🌹🌹💕💕
Elvis sez "You ain't Butta Potato Chit" to Derk Clack.
Elvis is 17 years old, here.

at 22 years old. Already has 2 mansions.
He was such a good person. Just a natural entertainer. He was an absolute one of a kind 🔥🔥🥵❤️😇 always so humble and honest 🥰
I thought I read where his entire performance was filmed by the police department to see if he would display lewd gyrations. Is this the performance and why is it so short? And there's no sound?
Is there a way to get from the North Andover side to the Lawrence side?
