    The body keeps us in a state of health. What does that even mean... the body can develop cancer, and if you don't do anything about it, you will die. Our job is to look after ourselves and repair the damage of our decaying body. It is not perfect by any stretch of the imagination.

    • @ScottJohnsonHealth
      @ScottJohnsonHealth 14 днів тому

      It means that our body has multiple systems designed to maintain a state of health. It doesn't mean disease won't occur because factors such as environmental exposures, diet, exercise, gut microbiome, stress, etc. can reduce the ability of those systems to maintain health. Yes, you need to look after and support the body, it won't simply do all of this on its own if our lifestyle and environment are not good.

    I follow you on FB for essential oil info. Even have two of your EO bibles which I refer to often. (Thank you for those resources!) I have been listening to your podcast. The guest speakers on the last two episodes, 13 and 14, ironically promote opposite nutritional diet strategies… one plants for detoxing and the other, ketosis for metabolic health. For some this can be confusing. For me, I utilize plants in essential oils and supplements; and proteins for my main food source. So I feel I get the best of both worlds. But the missing piece that doesn’t get addressed enough is soil which is the foundation of both. Being vegan or carnivore doesn’t fix anything long term if the soil is dead. It’s kind of like being an environmentalist while drinking out of a plastic water bottle. I do hope you have plans for future podcasts on how foods are grown, the regenerative movement and the impact soil has on our health.

    There is not a gay Christian by the word, its the same as saying I am a murdering Christian. I have a place to justify my sin and be with GOD at the same time serving two masters. Why does the Gay community get a hall pass on sin. They are the only ones who say its me and my sin accept it. But Jesus never says such a thing. Jesus says to deny the flesh how many times? The consequence is weeping and gnashing of teeth by Jesus owns words. This Jesus is all love is simply not true. Gays are the only ones who allow cherry picking of the word to suit sin, we are here to repent of sin in a nut shell. Sinners preaching a sinning gospel is so wrong and so false its not helping the cause at all. Real Christians cannot stand this hypocrisy, but our feelings are never considered its a one way street. The LGBT victim mentality is not tolerated in Christian circles its just annoying and they are meant to be inclusive, only for themselves and ideals. Once the truth is given it all has to be deleted to suit the sinner. Sorry it does not work that way.

    I’m certain this interview will have a positive influence. Thank you for sharing your life experience, Dennis, and thank you, Scott, for being God’s instrument in making this crazy world a better place. The only thing I’d like to bring up, if I may, is the idea God does not give us more than we can handle. Could it be He does so we rely on Him for strength vs. ourselves? Scripture does say He will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we are able, but is that different from never giving us more than we can handle? I’ve learned 1 Cor. 10:13 tends to be used in ways it may not have been intended.

    I am new to EO for topical use and read that it can help those with Hypo/ Hyperthyroid condition by applying on the neck/ feet. I used someone's recipe and used the suggested oils I already have, minus some (cause I don't have them): EO I used are Lavender, Clove, Frankincense, Peppermint, Lemongrass at 10 drops each in 10ml roller bottle, top up with Fractionated Coconut oil. I applied it twice a day, 4 strokes on each thyroid gland. At first the skin on my neck has been fine, until I noticed few days after that there are small red bumps appearing. I thought I just need to reduce the amount I applied from 4 to 2 strokes. Yesterday during my workout, I felt burning on my neck as I was sweating. Didn't think much of it. Then this morning some bumps were getting bigger in size. I immediately wash the affected area with cold water and the flare has reduced. Not sure what I have to do, I haven't diluted it enough (too concentrated), although in my defense, I have reduced the amount from what the recipe call for which is 20 drops of each EO. Should I try applying on my feet instead? or should I (with a heavy heart) throw the content and start making the same blend but this time use 2%-5% dilution ratio instead? Please help!

    • @ScottJohnsonHealth
      @ScottJohnsonHealth 4 роки тому

      It depends on if you have become sensitized to the oils. If that is the case, even applying to the feet could cause a reaction. Lemongrass and clove can be irritating, particularly on the neck and face area. You could try on the feet to determine if you are sensitized but be aware that it can make the reaction worse. Other suggestions can be found in my book Evidence-Based Essential Oil Therapy: amzn.to/2KnFdWh under the section about skin reactions to essential oils.

    What the heck. What am I missing. Looks to me like you proved that brands DO differ substantially to the point of not being “real” Lavender. That’s the oil I use most. Since this is a “scientific” test and not just an opinion or ploy to sell a particular brand, then why wouldn’t you associate the results with the brand names. Unless, particular brands are better than others and you don’t want to support them. I don’t get why do the test at all with such a difference in degrees of results and then not give us the actual results. Just numbers.

    • @awakenedheartroom
      @awakenedheartroom 2 роки тому

      i agree, I think if people are using the lavender from that company, they would want to stop using it completely. Yet, I do understand why he wouldn't want to use the names at the same time.

    • @ScottJohnsonHealth
      @ScottJohnsonHealth 14 днів тому

      Yes, EOs do differ greatly, but the focus of this video is to point out that saying only one single company has a corner on the market for all pure and high-quality oils is not accurate. It may be that five companies have a high-quality, pure lemon oil, while only one would have a high-quality, pure birch oil. I've seen companies where all of their oils were poor quality or adulterated, others that it is more like 70%, and a select few that have good oils.

  • @ScottJohnsonHealth
    @ScottJohnsonHealth 6 років тому

    Clarification: Near 5:00 minutes I state only 10 peaks are used for 100% of the sample, but I misspoke. What I meant was that a simple oil like lemon may have 30 peaks, of which 10 constituents make up more than 98% of the oil and the other 20 less than 2% of the oil. A true GCMS should include all peaks in the calculation. Wintergreen is usually 98%+ methyl salicylate with several other minor peaks (sometimes as few as10).

    Naming the companies is not a bad thing. I understand that knocking brands is not your purpose, but what good is letting people spend hard earned money on poor grade or just plain bad oils? It's always such a secret about what oils to use. I wish someone had made a video a few years ago saying which oils to bother buying. A lot of days and hours went into discovering what to look for. THANK YOU RMO FOR ENDING MY QUEST AND JUST BEING WHAT AN OIL COMPANY SHOULD BE..

    • @ScottJohnsonHealth
      @ScottJohnsonHealth 7 років тому

      I understand your frustration, Julie. Quality essential oils would actually be easier to determine if all companies provided test results (GC-MS, optical rotation, specific gravity, etc.) for each batch (bottle) of essential oil purchased. I personally believe that this should be an industry standard and would greatly help the consumer.
