Canon Vs. Sony - My Thoughts - Which is better for Content Creators in 2025?
In this video, I briefly give some thoughts and arguments about what camera ecosystem is better for content creators like me. I used to be a Canon guy, I still am, but now I use Sony because I feel like I have to. But I miss the Canon color science and skin tones.

5 Reasons why Vintage Lenses are BAD
Переглядів 70Рік тому
Please dont hurt me Vintage lenses are not necessarily what you think they are. Some are just bad lenses overall, and just old. They don't necessarily give you a filmic og vintage look. There are other ways to acheive that. An old crappy lens is just that, and old crappy lens.

Canon 1D Mark IIN in 2017 - Is it still good?
Thank you for video. Anyone, could you please let me know if Hoya HMC 28 mm lense would work on canon 650D?
Sadly in many instances my cell phone can take better pictures, especially in high light conditions when I don't have time to manually set the shot perfectly. The camera struggles to not blow things way out in the highlights and I've had to doctor photos that should have turned out much better. Even getting colour accuracy in tough lighting conditions can yield results that would be better to just give up and convert to sepia or grey. I have taken very good photos that scored well with my instructor, but it didn't have to be such a struggle. A newer camera made a huge difference.
Wait... I didn't even get that this whole video was P7000 footage... great quality! Never needed to know it, though, i have a better one for filming, but... very very cool!
Only the short clips near the end are P7000, the rest is Sony A6400
What is the best cf card for this camera?
You might have a defective unit. I have both a 10d and 2 old 300d bodies, and they both focus the same as far as I could tell. The 300d actually came out after the 10d (same year) and featured the same sensor and almost identical specs. Which is pretty surprising since nowadays, Canon would never release a prosumer body with almost identical specs to an entry level camera. Only tangible upside to the 10D was ergonomics, build quality and a better viewfinder. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
Are people still buying Canon in 2024?
Well, thats a good question
Wonderful
This was helpful! Thanks a lot!
What lense are you using
Great one! To the point! Very classic and totally relevant camera for today’s film renaissance. It allows fine adjusts to the color rendering that emulates good films like Fuji Velvia, Kodak Portra, etc. basic to the roots of photo taking.
My everyday camera! Still works good and always inside my car.
Picked up Canon 10D, 20D, 30D, 40D and the classic 5D. I may just do a detail in-depth review of them all on common EF L glass with models.
You deserve more subs!
I went m4/3 years ago. Today while cleaning came across my 400d, then the charger. I'm charging the battery as I write. Hopefully, will take it for a spin later today. I haven't used it for years. Almost forgot I had it. I changed systems because I wanted video as well as stills.
Photos look really good. Kinda dark looking but in a good way.
What lens are you rocking brother?
Hjertelig takk for nyttig gjennomgang/detaljert vurdering! Thanks much for very useful, nostalgic review of this classic piece. Prompted some Canon nostalgia of my own - got my Rebel XSi in 2008 and it served me very well for years, as testified by the quite nice photographic results still gracing the walls of our family home. While still a capable camera, well-suited for beginners, some editing is usually required due to the issues with dynamic range that you explained so well. You’ve inspired me to dust off my trusty Rebel and take it out for another spin 😊
I like old cameras too - thanks for making such a video. I think I couldn't pass on a $10 working body. The 20D and 30D might be a better idea because they can take EF-S lenses but for $10 I wouldn't pass it up. FYI, the ill fated APS system from canon has lenses designed for a smaller image circle and will work fine on EF mount - they are cheap too.
I bought the 10 D when it first came out because I was on the cutting edge it served its purpose well
This camera actually does have live view. In shooting mode press the SET button to open the shutter and the half press the shutter button to turn on the sensor. From there you can magnify the image to get super crisp manual focus. Also, one of the BEST features of this camera is the Digic III enhanced processor, which is the beta version of the Digic 4 that’s in the 5D Mark ii. IMO, the 450D/XSi/Kiss X2 has the best image quality of any Rebel ever made.
Does it record videos? and at which resolution?
$10? THey sell for $100 in Canada.
Bro There IS live view
Can you record off of it also?
it is for a total beginner on photography with a cam i used to phones ??
Hi there! I have just obtained this camera (I didn't use it already), and I want to ask: Is good to take photos of natural landscapes, without editions? And how this camera is comparing to other ones?
How about the ES45, can you provide any insight into it?
I just got one with a zoom lens for $25 dollars.
Good job
❤❤❤
I have a 650d but no touch screen
I have this camera, I have just worked out how to load film simulation picture styles onto it. Loving it.
Video and sound not in sync.
I still ise this camera today ...its fantastic when used/set up right , also press the center ok button to go into live view ....only works on some modes but it definitely has live view , i love my 450d even today .......just gutted my lens has stopped autofocusing
Thank you soo much , I found that camera at home and I said myself why don’t start to use it instead of using the phone, I was not sure about the quality compared with the modern camera phones but I’m quite surprised 😌
Still using it in 2024 and Only for Sports and Street Photos. Only lens u need is a 50mm and you get great Pictures!
Do you think this camera with the 50mm lens would work okay for portraits and close ups of tattoos?
@@thebrowwizard Alone with its makro Mode you can get great close ups. Then playing around with the AV Mode, opening the Lens you get a nice background blur. I love this camera. Even today a bang for the buck
@@thebrowwizard CANON EF 50MM F/1.8 STM, perfect for portraits, low Light and all daily stuff. You just gotta get more artistic with a fixed 50mm, which i think is a lot of fun
Can you doing good planespotting with the camera
@@eddc_spotting Guess so, but you might need a Tele-Lens. 50mm wont get you closer than your eyesight
I have a little story behind my 400D. Here's the story, my uncle bought it as his first camera back in late 2006 (I believe). Fast forward 2 years later, he asked my mom for money to buy a motorcycle so he can go to work. As a return, he gave this camera to my mom as a thank you. My mom doesn't need it so she gave it to my sister. I'm sure my sister use it often back in the teenage years. Fast forward another 15 years later, my sister gave it to me and landed in my room collecting dust. I don't know how to use it, I don't know if it a good camera, the charger is missing and I don't know if it was broken or not. Thanks to you, I have the motivation to use it. I really can't thank enough
what is a good mic for this camera?
Would have loved to see some side by side comparison images with a more modern camera.
I'm going for this camera 📸
My mother in law gave me one with gear. Glad to have it.
Is this camera still good comparing to modern phone(S23 Ultra)? I usually take pic like astrophoto or landscape and found that I got this camera around.
Its different. With the right lens its magic, but its old and it shows.
@@smartdslr9010 I only have lens for my phone but not the 400D, guess the phone would be better then, thanks.
Got 650d in 2013, it is truly amazing, but I will switch to the upcoming R5 MK2 because of iso. 650d is something I'd recommend to anyone starting out, or want a pal for many years. Good vid!
Shsu❤dh😂sj🎉s😢as😮
Where I live i found this cam selling for 140, im thinking about buying it
expensive software. cool tho
Hi. Canon 1100d in 2024 just for photography. Is it good for a beginner?
It's an okay camera as long as you get it for very cheap. I would recommend starting out with something like a Canon 30D or something of that age. It's basically free on the used market and works great for learning.
@@smartdslr9010 noted. Thank you!
Do you recommend the Canon XSI/ 450D in 2024 for a beginner? I just got interested into photography since I take photography class in High School and I want to try out photography for my self
If you can get it for something like $20 then go for it! Would not pay any serious money for it. Remember that good lenses are way more important and expensive.
any recommendations on a beginners camera for sports photography?
Canon 1D mk. 2,3,4.
