I remember when my dad bought the Album Oh Oh Canada from The Brothers In-Law in 1965 and I still have thst record.
Great video. Well researched and told. Thank you.
Thank you for watching!
Listening to this with my dad Tore Thorn right now ❤
Glad we can put up music you can share with your Dad
Wow - Gary that is incredible!!
Thank you Gary will be most apprecative of your thoughts
Nicely done. Good historical facts evolving to the current day.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
Very zen, good job Randy 😊
Thank you Tranquil Moments I hope is a Zen moment
Great to see old history of the BC Film Industry. Also featured in this movie was a famous RCN Ship the "HMCS Prince David" which was being refitted at CFB Esquimalt. It was one of the three "Prince" ships which had been CNR Passenger Ships on the BC coast.
This was a great video to make. BCAM provided all the material needed to make the video.
Ceconite manual says 225 for the first pass, and then 240-250 for the finial pass.
Thank you
@@rvjs100 I like the Ceconite process. I am recovering a Piper Clipper.

Glad you enjoyed it!
Very cool content . Thank you for sharing . I wonder if the nuke was recovered ?
I think it was but the US as I understand it did not talk about it and as I understand still does not talk about it
I was there about a decade ago painting that round building when they built it new. I pretty well painted most of it by myself. Driving the road up there was more like 6 hrs of dirt road hell lol. It's quite a remote area and lot's of bears and moose you see almost every day. There's a fossil site near there that I checked out while I was there but I stayed close to my car because of the curious bear in the distance. It was a fun adventure and I still have all the photos.
great story
76 yo BC man here. I vaguely recall this song, or its most famous refrain : "take the Saran wrap back to the kitchen, & use it for cooking instead" while I was a physics undergrad at UBC in Vancouver in the mid/late 1960s. Hugely wonderful to now hear the source recording! God Bless Dr. Claude Shannon for pointing the way !
We lived in Vancouver area then 2
Am in china but i would wish to visit prince Rupert BC which advise could you give me my 🎉

Thank you! Cheers!
I bought this album because my brother had a 49 ford I have loved 6 cylinder ever since.
The old Chevy & Ford 6 cylinder engines were dependable and good gas mileage for the day
interesting presentation. Thank you.
Glad you liked it!
Your creativity, open-heartedness and humour are something Parkinson's cannot take from you. Thank you for sharing this, Gary!
Glad you enjoyed it. Speaking for Gary (Randy Stagg) he felt it was important to tell his story while he still could.
My old road mates... 😎
Memories
I saw them in New Denver British Columbia in September 1975 and they were luminous. Shari just killed the Jackson Browne song "Rock me on the Water" and I have carried that performance with me ever since.
Music is all about memories

Hello, is Larry still involved in the BC Museum of Aviation in Nanaimo?
Not that I know of

The English wheel is awesome to watch in operation.
I agree. It works well when the person using it knows what they are doing.

Great to see such talented people doing amazing work. When I was involved in the hangers I've met a lot of very fine members.

Good to hear this again. I was one of the engineers and producers on this album. Dan Smith's solo at the end is still great.
It is nice to see a personal project on UA-cam. Good job!
Hi from UK, many thanks for making the time to give us an update. Grand to see the progress and good luck to you all.
Thanks 👍
Any updates?
Updates are controlled by museum board so their will be less of them going forward. Their is one waiting for approval know, submitted 2 months ago
I remember them from the old days at the Yale, great band! Can you post the whole record?
Thanks for your memories. Unfortunately the record is gone.
There are a few more tracks on YT. Do a search for Six Cylinder band.
I'm the base players son - Does anyone know where we can get the rest of the album? anyone found it on the web?
not sure
Great work leading this conversation dad. Telling the stories of our aviators during WW2 is a wonderful way to pay tribute to their wartime efforts.
Will forward to your dad
Are you guy's in touch with the lads at East Kirkby in the UK? Contact Andrew Panton as they are restoring NX6`` t flight and are also restoring the wings from NX644 as well.
Will forward this to the museum

Re firewall repair, watch out for the asbestos liner between the skin and also on the exhaust shrouds if you have them
thank you
ua-cam.com/video/S51nnEtJm-4/v-deo.html see Neville Wheeldon’s video’ s of the restoration of “just Jane “ at East Kirkby Lincolnshire. They could be a good source of info for you all and possibly save you many hours in labour. Good luck with all your restoration efforts.
Thank you will pass on the information
Has any of your crew found the pencilled notes and a crew list in left side the nose yet? In the tail section on the top right side near the sono buoy operator's station about the 2 o'clock level, there is a note regarding Exercise Nimblebat II from February 1962. It describes exactly how cold it was and asks why they were there but probably no one cares. Keep an eye out for them if you haven't seen them. They should be preserved as part of FM 104's history. Don't suppose you also received the big 1964 Toronto Star article with pictures on the retirement of Lancaster from RCAF service at Downsview or the 2 models of FM104 as built and in her final paint scheme plus the RCAF Lancaster Ground Handling manual from TAM when you received her?
I have passed your message onto Clive Sparks, Restoration Shop Manager.
Your cylinder liner puller is a good solid job, however after using this type of tool in my work, I would suggest replacing the two hardened steel thrust washers with a ball thrust washer, you will find the difference is well worth the change.
Thanks for the tip!
My understanding was that the bid for the aircraft was based on a restoration to flight with support from Victoria Maintenance. Seems that may no longer be the case. Listening to some of the comments in the video, there appears to be uncertainty. I think the museum should step back and decide what they want to achieve before committing money and time because it's pointless spending both on patching up structure that would need replacing for an airworthy aircraft. First thing on my list would be the undercarriage beams. Without a sound pair of those, she'll never fly. Hats off to the team working on her but no one seems to know what the end game is.
The original intent was to make it airworthy. With it being in such rough shape know all we want to do is get it back together for taxing. Once that is done we will work towards airworthiness. It all cost money but to get it back together will help going forward. We need a whole lot of parts and money
Any thoughts about chatting with the nice folks at the museum in Trenton ontario.
If you go to www.bcam.net and e-mail the museum they will forward the e-mail to the restoration hangar and they will get in touch with you
I assume that you are in touch with the people at Just Jane restoration. They are taking her back to air worthy and are much further down the track. My thinking is that they may have solved problems that you are yet to meet plus they are likely to be able to point you toward companies that have made different parts for them and have the tooling to be able to repeat the process.
Thank you we know of them I am not sure if anyone has made direct contact yet
@@rvjs100 Anther group that may be worth a contact is MOTAT in Auckland New Zealand. They also have a Lancaster ex French Airforce and believed to be the last one operational when it arrived. When it arrived it was supplied with all logs and manuals, all in French of course. There were I understand also many plan drawings according to my late FIL who worked on her when they shifted her to the present location. He had been a former flight engineer on them during the war. One would hope that they have been preserved. Could be worth asking.
