9800X3D Install and rough benchmarks
Переглядів 55721 день тому
This hour-long video is me decommissioning an old 10700F test bench and putting together the 9800X3D in an ASRock X670E Pro RS WiFi with a Noctua NH-P1 (passive) CPU cooler. It's long, and boring, and rambling, and no one should watch it. At the end are Cinebench scores for the 9800X3D compared to a 7800X3D and some standalone synthetic and game benchmarks. I have 7800X3D as well which will com...

MSI 3050 Gaming X Unbox (benchmark coming)
This can be easily solved by running FiveM instead GTA5. Easily over 450 FPS.
This, sapphire puls or merc 310 black?
So you reckon its a 9800X3d issue?was thinking of getting this cpu but im not impressed with the frametime of it on alot of benchmarks i've seen.Seeing alot of threads about random stuttering with it aswell. What about if you cap to 144?do you get the same stutters?
It's not the hardware, GTA is known to have issues on high end equipment. Don't get the 9800X3D unless you're upgrading from something older than a 5800X3D though, especially for 1440, a GPU makes more difference.
Sadly there's an issue with the engine of GTA V and the stutters happen after reaching 188 fps. :((
GTA V's rage engine has a temperamental cap on its fps at 186 to 187ish. Its an old game & 144hz monitors were barely around back then. So if you cap your fps to 186 you should see really good frametimes & average lows etc. Good luck.
Ohhh, I’ll try this. I wonder what happens at lower settings / higher fps.

Is it still working?? I want to purchase this psu.
It is! Now on the 9800X3D
@@bradeinarsen I was going to buy this PSU but when I went to purchase it I saw all the reviews and like 99% were all bad claiming it fried their entire systems so I skipped it. I ended up getting a white NZXT 1200w for the same price..
@@craigharris9591 interesting!!! Mine is super solid but I’ll keep an eye out for odd behaviors.
@@craigharris9591 Where have you seen these reviews? I have been looking for reviews on all SAMA PSUs and most of what I have seen has been positive
I am making the.. I guess you could say side grade instead of an upgrade as I am coming from a perfectly functional liquid freezer II 280mm to this 280mm. I’ve always liked NZXT’s aesthetics. I’m cooling a 5800x (not one of the hot boys) mine stays under 74 degrees under a 30 minute cinebench r23. Hopefully the kraken can keep up as I believe it falls somewhere in the upper - middle bracket of AIOs currently on the market
Should be fine. Handles the 7800X3D no problem on R23
Have an Amazon link for fiber optic wire?
cheers for the vid
Ew that air cooler
Ha ha... not a fan of the Noctua colours? The D15 gives a lot of AIOs a run for their money. I haven't tried the new G2 yet. www.amazon.ca/Noctua-Standard-All-round-Version-Recommended/dp/B0D5B6MXJF/
Well, times they are a-changing. I just picked up this card for $240 US or $332 CAD in a refurbished plain box sale from Newegg.
Thank you for the video. Have a nice day
I just want to suggest you not to use sapphire trixx rgb software, my 7800 xt nitro has stopped showing rgb after i started using it. Sapphire has some sort of bug and they are still very new to rgb area
Здравствуйте! Где можно его купить и за сколько?
Hellooo, I’ve just buyed a Yuhui SFX PSU for 328 RMB or 45 USD (I think it’s a Black Commender 750) in TaoBao, rather than in NewEgg, Yuhui to my knowledge is the same or sub-brand from Sama, I just have some questions, has the PSU exploded or had some kind of issue? Is it silent? I don’t want to assume but you’re accent sounds British and if I’m correct, in the UK, they use 220V and my PSU, like yours, in the input says 100-240VAC (mine had a sticker on the plug saying 220V/AC), do you know if it works with 110V, since I live on a country we’re we use 110V? It also came with a Chinese type I connector (To Outlet) and also to my knowledge, in Chine they use 220V Nice content btw
bonjour , pour une alim modulaire 850w vous conseillerez 1 câble 2 x 8 pin ou 2 câble 1 x 8 pin chacun
Mine favourite too,if only AMD would fix the drivers soon.
My drivers seem pretty good, what issues are you seeing?
Well? It's been a few months. What's the verdict on this thing? I have an 850W XF Gold series from SAMA. I was astounded at the quality of the cables and it's been an excellent PSU. I am upgrading to your same 7900 XTX, so I ordered this 1200W XP in white. We will see how she goes, but I'm liking SAMA so far!
It's fantastic. Agree, love the cables and it's super silent.
Update?
@@yordypoppe9439 did I promise an update more than the above? It’s awesome! The Gigabyte went to the Plex server.
Just ordered a sama 650, regardless of reddit discussions . No one even tries them. I'll do it. Ty for posting this
This one or the nitro sapphire ?? 😢
Sapphire Nitro 1000%
I have this one bc at the time the sapphire costed 200€ more but I'd you can the Nitro +. Hope you got it by the time you read this comment. ✨
@@cachetemcmuffin fast forward to 11 months later lmaoooo. I ended up getting the sapphire but within a week I started having some very bad driver issues so I got fed up and returned the card 😅😅 I got my money back and I got me a 4090 lmao. I tried getting the 4080 super but sold out.
The xtx was and still is a powerhouse of a card. The card did everything as expected specially for warzone since that’s what I play the most like more than enough.
I have exactly the same video card. Its throttles crackle a lot, I had to undervolt =(
How is it I just got mine last week played cyberpunk for 10 hours and it’s not as hot as my old 3080ti that card had me sweating
Hi friend, my model is MSI rx 6750 xt mech 2x v1 and with sw adrenaline and afterburner the max tdp is 200W. Do you know where is the problem? PSU, cables 2x8 pin, drivers... Because the TDP of this graphics is 250W. With the graphics is 100% used ( stress check) the consume is 200W max. It seems the power is limited. Its a new graphics board
Is the backplate metal or just brushed plastic? How are these on temperature?
temperature is terrible!! Hotspot is 95 celius and normal temperature 75-85 celius
and the fan is very loud!
I am interested in a follow-up to this video. The fans on mine go full-tilt when sitting at the loading screen for Warzone 2.0. My ancient GTX 1060 was always dead-silent. I especially would like to see fan/noise performance between the 6750XT and 6700XT, as well as the 3-fan variations of the 6750XT.
Oh I should really do that... audio testing is paused as it's summer and our home AC is outside my window (never quiet). Mine isn't loud and the fans spin up but not excessively.
I'm just doing some more bench testing with a 10700F and it's not loud. The fans spin up for RDR2 for sure but not loud at all. Fans stop once test stops of course.
Mine is great with cooling. 100% usage with Furmark (plus CPU burner but doesn't affect GPU) only gets to 73C on bench. Maybe the case is restrictive? drive.google.com/file/d/1BFTMlB5BYY8HufuAGNECOkDXx2g5QTak/view?usp=sharing drive.google.com/file/d/1p4x7h5zeQmJaqS9MV4VXhraNHNV0mudo/view?usp=sharing
I’m considering buying one of these cards. How have you liked it so far?
I just got mine yesterday. I bought it from Newegg because of the $10 rebate and the Starfield Premium promo. Sitting at the CoD Warzone 2.0 loading screen the fans go full tilt. It's VERY loud. I can hear it through my headphones if no audio is playing. I'm going to play around with the fan curve and/or other settings, but at this point I'm considering returning it. My previous GTX 1060 was silent even at maximum load.
@@mrmax1984 Yikes. That doesn’t sound like a good time. I decided to go with an Asrock 6750xt Phantom, because it has 3 fans and the RGB is a nice bonus.
Edit: turns out my case had bad thermals that my 1060 was masking. One exhaust fan came mounted backwards, so both ends of the case were trying to push air into the case. I corrected this and added a fan to the front. This helped quite a bit, but I still had to manually lower the 6750 XT's fan curve such that it never goes above 50%. Now, temps max out around 70C in Furmark, which is acceptable to me for the noise the fans make. For $300 and having to futz around with the fan curve a bit, this is still a decent deal for me. I also undervolted the card. It's running at 1120mV stable. In Warzone 2.0 it maxes out around ~190W of power draw, which I think helps with the fan noise and temps.
@@mrmax1984 You're ahead of me re: tech... I do recognize the fan sound with the shallow heat sink but on bench it's not bad. Certainly not headphones-level noise. Problem with all test bench testing I guess.
Way late so I assume you've made your purchase but: 100% usage with Furmark (plus CPU burner but doesn't affect GPU) only gets to 73C on bench. I just got one for 446€
Got the same Card, did you also have the High Junction Temp issue ?
i have the same card for 1 month and i recorderd max junction temp at 98-100C on demanding games, with only 1 exception with a recent game in which max temp reached 110C
I have the same card, only in star Citizen I got 90 junction. Other games stay around 68-72 junction
I have the same exact card, highest junction temp ive seen while gaming is 86C
Yes, mine was terrible. Fans to 100% right away and I think transient power spikes as the system would reboot. The Sapphire Nitro is almost silent and no issues at all.
beware of rgb pin on cooler, very flimsy mine snapped off with usual push of connector. apart from that it is brilliant, quiet and low temps for me.average around 30s c
Good tip! YES YES YES!!! I just about had the same thing yesterday. Be VERY careful. I'm leaving the cable on from now on when swapping.
i still have the main light on front, so not sure what that connection is for, brilliant card@@bradeinarsen
@@neilwalker4686 Oh, the RGB works without the cable attached? I have to admit I never tried that.
I was rather sad with my box, it was the first time in my life i ordered a high-end GPU Sapphire Pulse 7900 xtx and the box was glued. I was forced to cut the box up to open it. the card was brand new and unhurt but the box was a total loss. I'm not sure why but I had hoped to keep and display the box in my game room.
I hear that. I display my boxes as well! Mine wasn't glued and opened easy. :(
What do you think of the 7900xtx but by MSI instead of the Sapphire?
I haven't seen one but MSI makes good cards, I bet it's fantastic!
How much is that?
Depends where you are. They were selling for $600 CDN up here in Canada.
@@bradeinarsen would you say it is worth it for 330 usd
@@rahemshaikh8550 Now? No. When I bought it at launch it was still a GPU desert... now you can pick up a 6750 XT for $540 CDN ($400 USD) and that is faster than a 3060ti. The 6600 is the low price leader.
@@rahemshaikh8550 That's $436 CDN for something more powerful than a 3060ti (raster) so yes I'd say that's good. but times change and research before you buy
What is the typ full load temp of this card man, cause i'm worry that it'll be much higher than 3f variants.
Argh... I have the data on the test bench but away from it right now.. I don't think it was bad.
I'm pretty sure that 2 months later is too late ... but just ran Furmark / CPU Burner for 5 minutes and the system isn't loud and the 6750X is at 70C constant... nice.

not me but if it's that new then take it back!
Im thinking about buying this one as well, could you tell what the memory temps and junction temps are with heavy gaming?

How is this holding? I’m planning to get this one ore 4080 fe. What do you think
I also got this, didnt know the encoding/decoding in premiere pro only works on intel cpus with igpu and on the new expensive 7th gen Ryzen!
MSI coolers (Twin Frozr, I believe) have always been sweet. I do not trust MSI after 2 dead motherboards and one GPU but they do make nice looking products.
Interesting. I have the same opinion of ASRock but I think their higher end stuff is good. I used to like ASUS before the warranty fiasco. What are we supposed to do???
Brad, this is one of the better 7900 XTX models. How's it been treating you?
It's treating me well. The infamous Radeon drivers are a thing... MOSTLY it's 100% and as good as my Nvidia cards (3080 and down) but there are two issues: • In Dirt5 the mouse cursor actually stays on the screen in the centre and it's annoying. Often the cursor gets whipped eventually but it's aggravating. • The coil whine is LOUD in high fps screens (menus and some high fps games) mine is on a test bench so it's open and i suspect a case would get rid of most of this. Want to see benchmarks? Check out my Google sheet: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-OQ3JYRJLtW3gJei8VS9xNYXYEqTERu1vGXqvbpKJ38/
@@bradeinarsen Thanks for the report. Coil whine kind of a deal breaker for me. Hate noisy systems.

how does it fit lol. in noctua website it says "insufficent clearance" what ram do you using?
Sorry I thought I answered this!! The RAM is Corsair LPX low profile and the D-15 BARELY fits. It touches the glass so if you try this YMMV.
@@bradeinarsen yea mate we already talked about this. now im using d-15 with one fan its quite good with games but with hard workload its just cannot throw out the heat outside the case enough, im willing to buy noctua 120cm fan and add to the front thanks again ;)
Wish this case had better airflow it looks incredible
Truth right there. It's painful.
Hello. Does the sound of the fans quit or not? I have zalman z3 with 2 fans front, 1 fan rear and sound is really really quit (msi center silent mode). Temp is 38c-40c webing and office usage.
not completely sure, i sold this a year ago... but I remember it being pretty quiet
How’s the temps I have the same build and when playing AAA games on high settings my pc gets a little toasty lol
It was crazy ... using AIO for the CPU the GPU got to 77C average but 107C hot spot and was certainly throttling. The CPU on the AIO was only 75C. With air cooled CPU and fan exhaust the GPU 69C/94C and the CPU was 79C. So, surprisingly air cooling was more balanced. Running Heaven benchmark rather than Furmark 100% GPU/CPU the temps were a much more reasonable 49 on the CPU but still 76/100 on the GPU.
I seem to remember it being somewhat better with top glass off but can't find my notes on that.
@@bradeinarsen yea my 6750XT is basically touching the bottom of the case and it’s burning up, gonna try to maybe raise the bottom of the case and a different cpu cooler
