This isn’t true, either. The town in Gilmore Girls wasn’t based on any specific town. Fans believe the gazebo in Gilmore Girls looks like the one in New Milford - but there are lots of similar gazebos across Connecticut. And New Haven was most certainly not an inspiration, it’s a gritty city that has no parallels to the town in Gilmore Girls at all.

Our inn was built in 1843, and I have similar memories from playing (and living) here as a kid while my parents worked. I was still having dreams of getting lost in this big, old, house until only a few years ago. That's why we like to show new guests around whenever we can when they arrive, it's easy to get lost!

That's a risk we're willing to take! They're still working on the new bike lane. I believe most of it is complete from Calf Pasture Beach up to half-way up Route 7. More's to come, though!

Love your attitude about a risk you are willing to take. My concern is the insane car-centric culture we have around the state the country even around the world. I keep moving away from such places to small sparsely populated areas where I don’t always have to jump in my car to go somewhere. But I get it; overpopulated cities are better for business than sparsely populated ones. When was the last time you were in that booming city to the southwest of Norwalk. That does seem to be the vibe people expect in New England, but you can find a different vibe, depending on which beach you choose in Connecticut.

Head up to the Litchfield Hills! The dam at Barkhamsted, the covered bridge in Cornwall, the villages of Kent and Norfolk, plus the charming town of Litchfield itself are gorgeous surrounded by fall foliage.
