    Amazing and beautiful animals. Some thoughts that go through my mind when I see them: 1. If they could move their hind legs independently, what would they look like running? (I believe they are like rabbits and their legs are not able to move very far independent of each other.) 2. Does joey track mud, dirt, grass, leaves, into mama’s pouch, and if so, how is it kept clean? 3. Imagine if human women had a pouch, there’s be no need for purses. Haha.

      Thank you so much for your kind words and thoughtful questions! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed our video on baby kangaroos. 1. It's fascinating to think about how kangaroos would move if their hind legs could operate independently. Their legs are designed to move together, giving them their unique hopping motion. Kangaroos cannot move their hind legs independently; their legs work in unison to generate the powerful force needed for hopping. This synchronized movement is essential for their efficient and energy-saving locomotion. The structure of their legs, including strong muscles and elastic tendons, supports this unique mode of movement. 2. Joeys do sometimes bring dirt and debris into their mother's pouch. However, kangaroo mothers are very diligent about keeping their pouches clean. They use their tongues to meticulously groom the inside of the pouch, removing any dirt, debris, or foreign substances. Additionally, kangaroos produce antimicrobial substances that help inhibit the growth of bacteria and other microorganisms within the pouch, ensuring a clean and healthy environment for their young. 3. Haha, that's a fun thought! A pouch would certainly be a handy feature for carrying things around. We appreciate your engagement and would love for you to explore more of our 'Baby Animals' series, part of our 'Wilderness and Homestead Creatures' collection. @theperpetuallycurious8 3 місяці тому

      Thank you for your insightful comment. You're correct, the Pound-Drever-Hall (PDH) technique is a crucial method for frequency stabilization in atomic clocks. This technique, coupled with advancements like lasers and optical frequency combs, has greatly enhanced the precision of atomic clocks. In fact, a "quantum logic" optical clock at NIST in 2010 marked a significant leap in precision beyond caesium clocks. Your comment adds a valuable perspective to our understanding of atomic clocks. We appreciate your contribution.

    Is the red on their fur from blood or rust from the spiked collar?

    • @theperpetuallycurious8
      @theperpetuallycurious8 6 місяців тому

      It is crucial to clarify that the dogs featured in this video are entirely unrelated to us. Therefore, we have no knowledge of them and are unable to provide any specific information about them. The Kangal dog media used in this video was sourced from stock media libraries, selected to represent the breed's general traits and appearance, aiming to enhance educational value and provide viewers with a visual reference. From a non-expert's perspective, lacking personal experience with dogs or specialized qualifications, our speculation on potential factors contributing to the red hue on dogs’ necks is broad and loosely defined (listed below). While these hypotheses may offer some insights into the red hue in general, they might not universally apply, and importantly, they do not substitute for professional expertise. Encounters with Predators: Kangal dogs are renowned for their protective instincts, particularly when safeguarding livestock. The red hue could result from a confrontation with a predator, especially while wearing a protective collar designed to shield their necks during such encounters. Body Fluids: Substances like porphyrins found in body fluids could cause staining, but their role in neck redness is less common and not well-established. Environmental Factors: Elements like dust or mud could also affect fur color. Natural Coat Color: The red hue might result from natural coat color variations, influenced by lighting or camera effects. Allergies, parasites, and contact irritation, such as from collars or exposure to certain plants or grooming products, are other common causes of skin redness in dogs. Please note that these are speculative explanations, and while they offer possible factors in a general sense, definitive reasons for the coloration cannot be provided. Finally, to reiterate, we have no knowledge of the dogs featured in this video since they are entirely unrelated to us.

    But do they have to destroy the life of the animal in order to get the rennett ? I did see somebody using white vinegar instead of that and instead of the citric acid

    • @theperpetuallycurious8
      @theperpetuallycurious8 8 місяців тому

      Thank you for your thoughtful comment! Traditional rennet is derived from the stomach of animals, but there are alternative methods for coagulating milk in cheese-making. Many soft cheeses, such as cream cheese, paneer, rubing, and others, are produced without using rennet. Instead, milk is coagulated with acids like citric acid or vinegar, or with the lactic acid produced by soured milk. This acidification process can also result from bacterial fermentation, as seen in cultured milk. In addition, vegan alternatives to cheese are manufactured without using animal milk. These alternatives use soy, wheat, rice, or cashew as a base and can be coagulated with acids from sources like vinegar or lemon juice. It's fascinating how diverse and creative the cheese-making process can be, with various methods catering to different preferences. Thank you so much for tuning in! We appreciate your interest and curiosity. Keep watching our channel for more fascinating insights and creative content. We're thrilled to have you with us on this journey! If you have any more questions or if there's a specific alternative method you'd like to know more about, feel free to ask!

      @gardensofthegods 8 місяців тому

      @@theperpetuallycurious8 Yes thank you for explaining these . Yes , I do know about alternatives to animal milk . I used to make my own almond milk ... it was much better than the store-bought kind as I made it thicker and not so watery but of course was more expensive and had to be made in smaller batches since it would go bad pretty quickly . I doubt most of the people watching will understand that rennet is a byproduct of veal ... and I wonder how many of them will understand what that means and how cruel and evil veal really is . I can't stomach the jokes about baby animals tasting as good as the adult ones . I lived for a while on a farm a long time ago ... was very naive and felt devastated when the baby animals were all gone on Market Day . The silence and their absence was so depressing .

Understanding orca diets is crucial for conservation efforts. While their prey choices might seem surprising, it's important to remember these are wild animals playing a vital role in the ocean ecosystem. Thanks for tuning in and we appreciate your engagement.

    • @theperpetuallycurious8
      @theperpetuallycurious8 8 місяців тому

      Thank you for your insightful comment! The intricacies of cetacean taxonomy provide a rich tapestry for exploration. According to Wikipedia, orcas, scientifically known as Orcinus orca, are recognized as a prominent member of the parvorder Odontoceti, encompassing dolphins, porpoises, and various toothed whales like beaked whales and sperm whales. In acknowledging orcas as toothed whales, it's crucial to appreciate their dual classification - both as a species of dolphin and as a larger member of the oceanic dolphin family. This nuanced approach doesn't negate their dolphin identity but places them in the broader context of toothed whales. By using the term 'toothed whale,' we delve into the taxonomy of odontocetes, showcasing orcas not just as dolphins but as the largest representatives within the dolphin family. Turns out, calling orcas toothed whales isn't just about teeth! It unlocks a whole new layer of fascinating facts about how they fit into the family of ocean marvels. This distinction allows us to appreciate the complexity of their ecological roles and societal structures within the broader spectrum of toothed whales. Your engagement in this discussion is truly valued. If you have further questions or would like to delve into more aspects of cetacean biology, feel free to continue the conversation! As always, we're committed to delivering videos rooted in thorough research and a profound understanding of the subjects we cover. Your curiosity contributes to the depth and richness of our content creation process.

    Invented by a Scotsman called McAdam

    • @theperpetuallycurious8
      @theperpetuallycurious8 8 місяців тому

      Thank you for your comment! It's great to see an interest in road history. While the Scottish civil engineer John McAdam did make significant contributions to road construction in the early 1800s through his method known as Macadamization, he didn't actually invent the application of pure asphalt for roads. McAdam's Macadamization involved using crushed stone compacted in layers and bound with gravel or tar, not pure asphalt. Our research into this topic reveals that the use of tar in Macadamization was a common practice to hold the crushed stones together and improve road durability. The use of asphalt in road construction has a more complex history, and it evolved over time. Asphalt, as we know it today, has a more extensive history with various contributors. Ancient civilizations were among the first to use asphalt, a complex mixture of hydrocarbons, as a construction material due to its waterproofing and adhesive properties. In modern times, Belgian chemist Edmund J. DeSmedt played a crucial role in the development of asphalt pavement. He laid the first true asphalt pavement in the U.S. in Newark, New Jersey, in 1870. So, while McAdam's work, particularly Macadamization, was groundbreaking for road construction, the use of pure asphalt in roads has a more diverse history rooted in the chemical properties of bitumen. We appreciate your engagement, and our research aims to provide scientific depth and clarity to our content!

      Point well taken! In this video, we're focusing on contrasting the etymology of our planet's name- Earth- as it is named now, rooted in old English and Germanic words- with the mythologically-inspired names of other planets. But you're right, Earth is certainly celebrated and personified in many cultures across the world. Thanks for sharing your perspective!
