Ostkreuz is a reflection of movement, transition, and identity. Inspired by Friedrichshain’s iconic Ostkreuz station, this piece captures its mechanical rhythm, chaotic energy, and symbolic significance as a crossroads of lives and sounds.
In 2016, I recorded the station’s atmosphere: the hum of trains, the shuffle of commuters, and the mechanical beats of daily life. These raw, urban elements formed the backbone of Ostkreuz, a minimalist and introspective track that bridges the personal and the urban. This remastered version includes 3ToN’s Bahnsteig Remix, bringing a hypnotic, layered interpretation to the original piece. Created during a challenging time - when my studio was stripped to bare essentials - Ostkreuz became a turning point in my creative journey. It’s where Corvin Dalek, the urban musician, meets Gábor Müller, the writer and observer. With visuals captured during its creation, the track is both a meditation on Friedrichshain and an exploration of sound as a storyteller.
Part of my End Of The Worlds project, this release steps away from club functionality to embrace minimalist, experimental electronic music. Ostkreuz is a sonic journey through Berlin’s urban fabric - a place where music, stories, and movement intersect.
