Eye on the Our (2020) is a piece I wrote while studying at the Wabass Institute for the 21st Century Bass Player. The title is a play on words from a lyric that inspired me from a song called “Shaolin Monk Motherfunk” by the band Hiatus Kaiyote. Hi there! That’s exactly what this is - it’s a copy of a baroque double bass bow that was made for me in 2017 by Bernard Walke. However, it’s made to be a “hybrid” so you can hold it overhand or underhand

I actually really liked the sounds you got with your Hybrid Walke bow, sounded really nice and tight. My top 3 favorite bows were the Silver Screw Bernard Walke, the Vitale, and the John Norwood Lee. My least favorite was the Kolstein Bow, sounded too Pillowy and soft to me. I like bows that can bite! P.S This video is criminally under viewed!! I watched the whole thing and learned a lot. Keep up the great work ;)
