Do it on the Fly ! Thats some fun!
Fantastic info. As a recent first time visitor to Mondy (3 weeks ago) using almost identical technique we landed 10 fish, 7 over a metre up to 110cm. Certainly outfitted to livescopers who were doing it tough. The correct speed was a big factor, the slow trollers couldn't entice the bite. We largely used the main motor which didn't seem to spook the fish.
That is great! You did well. There were quite a few long faces in the caravan park on the second trip, as it was tough. But this technique was getting results.
Hey Matt awesome mate thank you. I actually do UA-cam up in the NT my fav technique is trolling I might steal your idea and do one on our rivers in the salt if ok cheers.. Andy..
The heavy heads will work well up there in open water.
Awesome Matt, takes someone special to share their tips. Any further tips on the reels used & why? Trying to get geared up along your advice. Thanks
Thanks for the feedback. Spin reels are 4000 size, baitcast are 200 size. Shimano Tranx and ABU revo winch.
Awesome Matt.
Thanks Martin cheers
Keep driving to the NT and catch a real barra in the wild, not an impoundment slob.
Its a bit far for a long weekend. This will have to do for now.
You think this will work at Tinaroo too?
Yes I think its worth a go.
this is Great Info, thanks for sharing it all much appreciated.
Thanks T-roy cheers, glad you enjoyed it
Good info there, Matt. I would add that, if you're trolling, give some space to other boats and go well around (at least 30m) anyone anchored or spot-locked on points...
Thanks Pete, yeah I didnt really go into that sorry, because I generally try to stay well away from others. Some people have a different definition of personal space lol
Yeah, it's good mate. Some theory is essential for getting an idea of what to actually do on the water. And where your lures should be in the water column. Just information on which lure to use isn't much help, although to the uninitiated that's all they think they need.
Thanks Richard appreciate the feedback
Great video got the info across well 👍
Thanks heaps for the feedback. Working on more content for the Barambah range.
Good helpful video for the guys getting into trolling. You should have mentioned anglers etiquette also, they seem to have zero at the moment. I have nothing against trolling, only rude dickheads trolling straight over where I’m casting and spooking the fish I’m tracking on live, there’s plenty of room in these systems to give other anglers a wide birth guys. If you want to be more successful with livescope casting and retrieving you need to run perspective mode, you will outfish the trollers 9/10 times even with them spooking half the fish you’re tracking.
@@Alan_lay thanks Alan! its a bit tough in the busy areas on the moon periods for sure. I am new to live scope and haven't got perspective dailed at all, so I look forward to more time on the water with it.
@@barambahlures2765Perspective mode is definitely the way to go for those open water fish if you are casting, jerk baits in the 80-120 mm size in various depths are the preferred lure as you can sit it in their face for longer. I mostly fish at night this time of year to combat the crowds with the added bonus of not getting cooked by the sun. My dad likes to troll for them and is coming up for a visit next month, I have forwarded this video on to him. Cheers 👍
@@Alan_lay I found the Jerkbaits only got to 2m, and the fish are in 3 to 5m. I think I need to design a 4m jerkbait.
Let me know if you like this video format? cheers, Matt
Nice job 👌😀
Good stuff man. New subscriber here. Keep up the great work out there and tight lines
Thanks for the video
Wow, that's awesome. Wish I could get myself one of those. But I have no luck there.
Bringing back memories of the old dam hot sessions in Faust and Tinaroo…..nice one mate 👍
Cheers ta, you are showing your vintage there 😂 good times though!
Great video Matt - good info. I struggled the last trip but I was more up the back. Looks like your jig heads are going well. Cheers Lex
Thanks for the feedback Lex, it definitely gets tougher up the back as the water temps get over 30 degrees in the bays. The deeper water is the go, not as much fun as casting, but anytime you can get connected to a barra is awesome!
Nice work Matt.
Thanks Chris, appreciate it mate, cant wait to get back up there.
Good stuff Matt.
Thanks for all the tips Nelson
Would be good to see the TYcod permeant piece in the in the lure selection
This was a good watch thanks for sharing some awesome history
Matt did you fish in the flatty one at forster mate i remember if it was that one or might been the bream comp i remember talking to you a i showed you a big frog I bought from the states years ago any way thanks for the video Rob bennett
Hi Rob, I haven't fished for flatties there, just a few social trips there for Bream.
Great overview. Well done. Great comp!
Can’t go wrong with pink

The Whitey is my favourite Detonator up here in Central Queensland
White pearl 2.5 inch bait junk gets smashed
Plenty of great information in that video. Favourite Deton8or colour is Baby Jack. Hope to catch a few with ur lures during the Classic
love the Gunner in the 68 deton8tor and b80 diver for the Burnett River. Flatties and cod love em.
My favorite colour happens to be one of your lures.. the detonator 58mm in candy shrimp I caught a 68cm flathead 3 times in the same afternoon the first time I got frayed off at the boat the second time on another lure it had the candy shrimp still in its gob and the third time it went for the candy shrimp again... this was trolling along the edge of a drop off on the run out tide and the flat were riddled with yabbie holes.. I always use this lure around areas where their lots of yabbies
That is awesome! how good to get the lure back and then get another one, or same one again, so cool.
Hey, You won the DETON8OR 48 Lure pack. Can you email your name and postal address to me at matt@barambahlures.com

❤Beautiful handmade lures. Congratulations 👏 👏 👏 ❤
Matt, a couple of questions, if I may: How many hours did you put into that fantastic Goanna? It is so beautifully made! And... If you were to sell the Goanna, what would it honestly be worth to compensate everything you put into it and possibly come out ahead? I'm not looking to buy, as I make my own lures. But I get told all the time that I should sell lures, and honestly, I couldn't sell them for enough to cover the cost of labor that it takes to make one-off lures. Maybe you work faster than me and wouldn't have spent weeks making that lure. Thanks for entertaining my curiosity mate.

Nice work Matt. I see you're happy to use clips on your lures. Makes changing a lot easier.
Thanks Grant, it also helps when using a tackle back, as the tackle back locks onto the swivel
