Fix to E46 DISA valve that always stays open
The video is 2 years old. I have been running with no issues and haven't ever had any more problems related to the DISA valve, so I'd say it worked.

how high do you have to lift the car up? I got 2 ton jack stands that can get as high as 17-18 inches. would that be enough?
It depends on the transmission and how comfortable you want or need to be. The bigger the transmission, the higher you should lift the car, and the same goes for the more relaxed you want to be. In my case, I put it as high as those stands get, and I think that is around 40~50 cm.
Great video,i upgraded my disa valve yesterday with a kit from x8r. I left the small flap off accidentally and put the disa valve back on my car..did all the checks on my disa valve before this and all good. The only thing I'm confused about is my disa valve stays open when i start the car and at low revs..the lever works tho at higher revs.
The valve has to stay closed under 4000 RPM or so, and open from 4000 RPM up. What I don't know is how you would be able to see that yours stays open at low revs and, at the same time, see that the lever works; since, the lever only works by opening the valve, and therefore, you would have to have the valve closed before for that to happen. I did get rid of mine because I've done the conversion to M50 IM.
@@aleknive thanks for your reply, it was the small bracket that's attached to the side of the disa valve that I accidentally didn't reattach before fitting the disa valve back on. I was revving the engine and my dad was looking at which direction the level was moving: all the way to the left meant flap is open, all the way to the right shut. Just took my car for a quick drive to see how it was, feels the same as before. I double checked the disa valve today (before attaching it to my intake) for vacuum leeks and it functioned properly,no cracks on the disa valve. No warning lights on dashboard,disa valve sounds ok, only suction noise.
@@dRew-something No worries. As you said, when it moves to the left is opening, and to the right is closing; so, now with the bracket reattached, it does stay closed at idle, right?
@@aleknive it looks like it stays open when I turn ignition and then closes when I accelerate below 4k rpms..seems weird it does that but at least it works. Next job is sills..rust🙈
@@dRew-something that seems like it doesn't create enough vacuum on idle. Might have a little vacuum leak that is overcome when RPMs go a bit higher.

@@Jarevalo81800 they feel good but they came loose on me the nut was literally hand tight … idk why maybe from all the vibration so make sure you tighten them good I would say that’s my fault

Es un show. Con las puertas. Pero es algo que sucede por la programacion. En algo falla al quitar la bateria. Mi camioneta x5 estaba bien y al cambiar la bateria se blokearon las 2 puertas delamteras y una trasera. Y pues igual tube. Que usar martillo y cincel para destruirlas y pues dañar los panels al quitarlos... Yo estube buscando solucion en diferentes grupos de bmw. Y nada. Todos isieron lo mismo. Destruir los mecanismos. Saludos. De jalisco mexico.

He tenido que comprarla en la robauve. La mía, que es la correspondiente al modelo pre-facelift (98-02), no he sido capaz de encontrarla en absolutamente ningún sitio aparte de la casa; sin embargo, si la tuya es la correspondiente a la versión facelift (la versión más moderna), esa la he visto por muchas páginas de recambios a la mitad de precio que en la robauve, incluso es la única que encontraba en desguaces, aunque yo personalmente antes que de desguace la compraba de una página. Robauve: 186€ Páginas de recambios: sobre los 90€ Desguace: las dos que yo encontré, una era 25€ y la otra era 50€
Me acaba de pasar eso en mi E46 2002 😔 y necesito repararlo. No me abre la puerta ni por fuera ni por dentro
Yo conseguí abrirlo en 5 minutos , desde dentro del coche si quitas la goma que va unida al pilar del cinturón se ve la cajita por donde se une el actuador con el pilar , por esa ranura metí un corta frío y a martillazos rompí el actuador y se abrió sin necesidad de todo esto
Eso si os cuento también que tras quitar la vieja que se me bloqueó absudarmente cambiando el elevalunas , compre otro cierre en desguaces la torre 30€ y tras montarlo vi que abría y cerraba bien pero al darle al cierre centralizado Pum se volvió a bloquear , lo volví a abrir y puse el cierre antiguo el primero e igual abre y cierra como nuevo pero al darle al cierre centralizado o girar la llave se vuelve a bloquear
