His face was close enough that you could see the faint flush on his cheeks, smell the warmth of whiskey on his breath. “You’re always so composed,” he murmured, his voice soft but heavy with emotion. “Always so… untouchable.” The intensity in his gaze made it hard to breathe. You opened your mouth to respond, but no words came out. “I need you,” he whisperedhis lips brushing the curve of your neck. The shiver that ran down your spine was involuntary. “You’re drunk,” you said trying to keep your voice steady “Maybe,” he admitted, pulling back just enough to look at you his eyes searching yours. “But I know what I’m saying.” You tried to push him back, your palms flat against his chest, but his presence was overwhelming. “H/n, this isn’t right- “It’s the only thing that feels right,” he interrupted, his voice barely above a whispe His vulnerability caught you off guard The powerful, unshakeable man you’d known now stood before you raw and exposed. “H/n…” you began unsure of what to say. He didn’t let you finish. Instead, he leaned in, his lips brushing softly against your cheek. The gesture was brief, almost hesitant, but it lingered in the air between you. “I shouldn’t have called you,” he said after a moment, stepping back. The regret in his voice was unmistakable. “Go back to your room.” You hesitated, your heart pounding. “Are you sure?” He closed his eyes, running a hand through his already tousled hair. “Yes. Go.” His tone was firmer this time, though there was a sadness in it that made you want to stay. But you knew better. With a quiet nod, you turned and walked toward the door. Just as your hand reached for the handle, his voice stopped you. “Wait.” You turned, hope flickering in your chest. “Goodnight,” he said softly, his expression unreadable You nodded and left, the weight of his kiss and his words lingering long after the door closed behind you.
