Video 39 Bronson fans and their bikes
At one time I thought I was alone with my passion for Then Came Bronson. So I thought it would be fun to show some Bronson fans with their Bronson bikes.

I was eleven years old. Two things stood out to me then about this show. First, Broson was really cool. Second, I felt how Bronson felt. Being free to roam. Explore. Adventure. Meeting people. But, moving on not staying anywhere.
Very cool! Thanks for watching!
“Running down that long lonesome highway”🎼
Yes, going down that long lonesome highway,. Thanks for watching!
I have his record album!
Good for you! Thanks for watching!
Yup show inspired me decades ago.
Me too! Thanks for watching!
I watched ever episode when they came out, but I never realized at the time, that his handle bars were so wide.
Yep, Thanks for watching!
i remember this show
Good deal! Thanks for watching!
My first bike was a 5hp Tecumsah Taco, and my second was a 1976 Honda XR75. Our arc is similar. And I had never seen this series or knew of these bikes until now. Very interesting video series. Thank you.
Cool! Thanks for watching!
Have the same story , just like when my older friends would come over on all kinds of different bikes , it was always the Harley that got me excited Then Came Bronson was the best
Very cool! Thanks for watching!
Cool
Thanks for watching!
Never missed a show
Me neither! Thanks for watching!
How did you learn so much about TCB? And the video clips?
I did lots of research. Plus I got to speak to Birney Jarvis, the real Bronson that the movie was about. Also, other folks like Dave Ekins, Buds brother. Jerry C. the guy that painted the bikes during the TV show and others. Thanks for watching!
@@buickman4878 Thank you so much for this effort. A fun trip down memory lane. Some of my happiest moments have been on a motorcycle.
@@johnl5974 You are welcome and thanks for watching!
Was my favorite show to watch as a kid, that and Easy Rider were my two shows that made me fall in love with motorcycles which mostly consisted of Harley Davidsons which I still ride today at 66 yrs old. My father who worked in the film Industry “Ray Nadeau” IMDB knew Bud Elon’s very well and had ran with him in Hair and Hound (desert) races back in the day
Very cool! Thanks for watching!
what about the chopper that martin sheen gave him in the first episode????????.......
Sorry, no chopper. The bike Martin Sheen had, did have a 3 foot tall sissy bar on it for the first few minutes of the pilot movie. Thanks for watching!
That was my favorite show of all time,I’m a sport fan.
Me too! Thanks for watching!
Loved that show!
Thanks for watching!
Somewhere in my old slides, I've got a pic of me with the finished MPC kit. I got to put a leg over the bike at Cars of the Stars as the place was in decline and no one was watching. I even worked with a guy in Reno who claims to have been around the Mapes when "That Undiscovered Country" was being filmed. I do have the ASE decals on my Honda Navi but it's the dollar replica because I named the bike "Illumi-Navi." Anyway, great info here for TCB fans.
Very cool! I almost put a leg over myself when KI was there in 1974. Do you happen to have ANY pictures of the bike when you were there? Cool name for your Honda! And, thanks for watching!
@@buickman4878 Don't I wish I had a pic? And thanks for bringing back that memory..LOL. It was '79 just before it closed and I remember what a dump the place looked like. The bike was toward the back of the building with no signage or roped stanchions. I imagine it was slightly nicer in '74, but I was in Iceland at a radar scope then.
6:00 am I threw my rolled up sleeping bag out the 2nd floor window, snuck out the house, through the woods to a neighbor who had a barely running Honda 90 in the barn. Attached sleeping bag, rolled it into the field, started it up and headed up the Interstate. Later that day was picked up by the police, over night in a cell, parents got me next day. 1970, I was 14, never been on a bike, I wanted to live Bronson’s life. Utterly stupid I know. Wasn’t my last adventure.
Very cool story! TV can influence a young kid! Thanks for watching!
Brings back some good memories!
Great! Thanks for watching!
I loved the show but nobody seemed to be aware of it as it was played around midnight when most people were in bed. Stupid TV programmers in Sydney Australia🤔
Interesting. Thanks for watching!
I was 19 when Then Came Bronson first aired. I would watch it with my grandmother who loved Bronson as much as I did. My whole life has been centered around Harleys and vintage British twins.
Very cool! Thanks for watching!
It's funny. 16-year-old me didn't like this episode much - too boring and slow. But 69-year-old me has a new appreciation for it. I guess that once you get older and have had some serendipitous meetings and sad good-byes, things "hit a little different" as the kids these days say. What's even more funny is that this series - especially this episode - **still** makes me want to chuck everything and head out on the road. The question now would be: Bronson-style on my Sportster? Or buy a campervan (and a trenchcoat) and do it like Katz?
Great observation and very true! I thought about both my self. Thanks for watching!
The memories this brought back !!👍 thank you 👍
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Please turn on automatic generated captions in the settings.
I don't know what that is or how to do it. Do you know how?
Fantastic project.
Thanks for watching!
The genuine Bronson Harley is a Harley-Davidson Sportster motorcycle that was featured in the TV show Then Came Bronson. The motorcycle is on display at the National Motorcycle Museum in Anamosa, Iowa
Sorry, that is a replica that was on loan. I believe that museum also closed down. Thanks for watching!
I used to watch this show when it was on television when I was a kid. But even then, I thought it was funny that he pretended to kickstart his Harley, when it had an electric start
Yes he did that a few times. Thanks for watching!
I was between the USAF and the Army in 69, watched every episode I could. Never realized it only had one season. Wish they would show full episodes instead of partials. I loved it then.
You can get all 26 episodes by going to www.jimbronson.com and click on the TCB STORE button. Thanks for watching!
Does anyone remember they came out with an album with the theme song as one of the hits that Michael Parks sings . My older brother liked the show so much he bought the album.
Yes Long Lonesome Highway. I see them on Ebay sometimes. Thanks for watching!
I want to see the episode where he races off road, this old guy wearing a full leather suit with a question mark painted on it. Thats about all I remember but it got me hooked on dirtbikes!
That's two different episodes. The old guy is in The Old Motorcycle Fiasco and the race episode is Mating Dance For Tender Grass. Thanks for watching!
Watched the show faithfully during my senior year in high school. My first bike followed the following summer - a Sears 106cc (a rebadged Italian Gilera) at a cost of around $350. My dad reluctantly agreed to accompany me to buy it and drove it home for me. We were both immediately assigned to the doghouse where we resided for a week or so until mom got used to the idea. Quite a few bikes followed but I stopped riding when I started questioning my aging ability to react quickly enough to the many potentially dangerous situations on the road. Bronson was my inspiration and a pretty fair role model for a young guy.
Cool story and I agree about the role model! Thanks for watching!
Like you my first bike was 1967 Sears 106cc Gilera that my parents got for me in 1969. I continued to ride until spring of 2024. My last bike was Honda Goldwing 1500cc SE. I've been to 31 States on my bike. My longest ride was 3842 miles round trip. I stopped riding because the Goldwing was just to damn heavy, currently looking for a smaller lightweight bike to do 2 or 3 day road trips on .
@@bobbybarnes408 Good for you! I'm the same way and I got a lighter bike. a 2011 Honda NT700. Thanks for watching.
My Dad and I watched the show. He taught me how to be a responsible Biker.
Very cool! Thanks for watching!
I had that model kit
Cool! Me too! Thanks for watching!
I remember watching this episode. There was something about him banging on his fender with that Bronson rock that stayed with me all these years.
It is interesting how many people remember that one scene in one episode. Thanks for watching!
I loved that show, only one season? Too bad, 69 I was 15 years. I also ride and think about that show all the time. Glad I found your channel
Thanks for watching!
😮ALL SEEING eye"...
In the back of Cycle Magazine, Michael Parks was shown featuring a Sportster give away. Just enter the drawing by sending in your name and address. I did this but apparently didn’t win 😢. I always wondered who did 🤔
A lady in Pennsylvania won and still has that bike. Thanks for watching!
where ya headed?
Where ever I end up! Thanks for watching!
Why was my comment removed?
Which comment, I did not remove any.
Someone did if wasn’t you then big bro utubby did anyway fukut I’m not typing it again. You wouldda liked it though.
Don’t touch my hog
Funny! Thanks for watching!
Vastly underated, underappreciated actor, talent. My hero back then as a jr in hs, but the coolest uncle in the world had me interested in bikes since I can remember.
I agree. Thanks for watching!
Loved this show when i were young 64years long gone n alot of miles on a rigid shovel now have a dyna w/g 96 n my dads 77lowrider stroker 88inch RIP DAD. Ramblin sorry loved Bronson😂😂😂
Cool! Thanks for watching!
I enjoyed riding off into the wilderness with my Honda Shadow. The time that sticks out is down the road from the Grand Canyon. Driving up and down onto rock ledges looking for a place to camp. Squeezing the bike in-between Pinion pines to hide. That was about as far as I got from Miami. It was all about getting to a place where you could see no sign of traffic or the human race.
Interesting, Thanks for watching!
It was crazy to Michael parks on kill bill as the Honduran jungle pimp ,dude had some acting chops ..you gotta believe tarrintino was a fan of TCB and carridine in Kung foo . Rip micheal parks. Rip David Carridine
Yes I agree, both great actors! Thanks for watching!
I own a 1968 Sportster XLCH, I bought it new, and I still own it. I purchased it at Reiman's Harley Davidson from Henry & Roger Reiman. Roger was the top road racer in the world at that time and the chief mechanic for Evil Knievel. I loved the show Then came Bronson. I got a Navy watch cap, wore the sunglasses and thought I was Micheal Parks.
Cool story and I did the same thing! Thanks for watching!
Wheel's through TIME in Maggie Valley NC MAY have ONE ,They have some EVIL KENIVAL BIKE'S
This show made a 2 year waiting list for SPORSTER's At our local Harley shop ! Loved IT!!
Wow, really, that's interesting! Thanks for watching!
I just carved off decades of water under the bridge, to recall watching this TV series as a teenager.
Cool! Thanks for watching!
Good job,Happy Harley Days, the show and parks inspired me as well. I've had 5 SPORTSTERS, I have a 2022 1200 X. 48. RIDE EASY. 😊
Thank you! And thanks for watching!
Always cracked me up watching him kick start the bike and you could hear the starter kicking in.
Yep he did do that sometimes. Thanks for watching!
I was a Fan ! I was a Freshman in Highschool '69 It was the driving motivator of my wearing a Navy Blue watch Cap ! A habit I again picked up in the Marine Corps, at Mountain Warfare Training ! I had almost forgotten this show ! As Bob Hope used to say, " Thanks for the Memories " ! 👍😉
Very cool! Thanks for watching!
