Birchwood Cottage and Gardens
Приєднався 8 лют 2023
I am a Filipino Immigrant in Canada. I named the channel Birchwood cottage and gardens, because our property is surrounded by birch trees, cottage is the house and we started building gardens around it. In our early years here we put our time in establishing our family. Now that the kids are older I found more time in my hands to go back to my hobbies like crafting, gardening, repurposing, refurbishing, recycling, thrifting. antiquing among others. I got my creative juices from my dad, who has now joined our creator in 2018. He was a master carpenter and an artisan. In This channel I will show you how we live, create and garden. In short how we live our life. I’m including my gardening zone 3b because it plays a great role in how and why we do things the way we do. Tune in as I take you inside our simple and practical life. God bless and be kind.

I have to do it and I love doing it. I’ll just suffer from the itch for a couple days and the rashes will go away until the next exposure.

@@cuernavacadave Thanks, hope you can try 🪴
Awesome job. Love all three!
Thank you 😊
Beautiful work!
Thank you 🪴
I have that allergy to the sun as well the neighbors think i am cold always having long sleeves in the summer heat. Only one exposure in the first of the summer will result in rashes all summer long. I hate that we have this.... its very uncomfortable but nice to know i am not alone ! I always lived in canada 🇨🇦 but developed about 5 years ago I adore my gardening anyways
Right? What’s in the sun and air here, just kidding. My neighbors might think the same haha. Let’s cover up and keep gardening 🪴🪴🪴 All the best to you ❤️
Nothing deters those who hold true passion for something. I hope you find some relief from both the discomfort of the sun rash & the pain of plantar faciitis <3 <3
Thank you sis❤️

Lo siento, no tengo esa función, pero avíseme si tiene preguntas. cuidarse.
You could make some ditches further up the hill do that water can percolate the soil and your sunflowers have more chances. Also I would make the ditches 10 inches deep so they can retain as much water as posible. Good luck 🎉😊
They all look fantastic. The handles that you applied, is that just air dry clay???? Thanks for sharing. Now, I’ll be on the hunt for vases:)
Hi, glad you liked them. Yes just air dry clay🪴 happy hunting ❤️
Great ideas ❤
Thanks🪴
Did you use real moss from outside or did you purchase some? I only have a little bit of moss in my backyard, not sure I can scrape it off the surfaces to use in a project. I’m thinking I’ll need to buy some & turn it into the powder. Thanks
Hi, it was purchased. If you have moss in your backyard and they are dry for sure you can scrape them off and grind them. Glad you were inspired. All the best 🪴
Great job I'll have to try that sometime!!!
Thanks, yes share with me what you end up doing.
Good to know 😊
Compressed air will aid in bucket separation
Wow, so many ideas! How about old fashioned xmas ornaments? Love this technique. Might sound weird but I'm gonna practice on a large plastic cremora cantainer b4 I get the nerve, lol, on a couple old vases. That bust turned out so cool. ❤ Commenting just into the vid, but I have so many items I could do this to, including a metal buddha! Thank you for sharing your talent!
I’m glad to hear that you are trying it out. Yes it will work on any hard surface. Share pics of what you end up doing 🪴🪴🪴
❤
They look great .
Beautiful!
Increíblemente bello!!
Como traducir lo que explic? Que elementos usa???
I used drywall/joint compound and a mixture of soil, moss and moss powder, chili flakes, sand, cinnamon powder and other condiments to distress or age them 🪴
Los condimentos los aplicas con el compuesto blando? Y se queda bien pegado? No cae la tierra o Canela una vez seco?
Que elementos usaron para dar ese envejecido? Es precioso!!
I used ready mix drywall compound, to distress I used a mix of all or some, soil, sand, moss powder, cinnamon powder and chili flakes.
Traductor por favor!! Es bellisimo!!
Not sure if there’s a translator, but you can turn on the cc to see the subtitle.
Awesome job! They look great! Beautiful. So much better than the pink.
Thanks ❤
I'm here again bcuz I just love watching how you changed the look. And so love the handles, as well. Wow. Don't get me wrong, I love pink, and the pink vases are awesome, however, the vases are so unique now. So cool.❤ You are very talented. And blessed to be given that talent.

Hi! New hete and just subscribed. Where do you buy the aluminum platesplease to secure the orb?
Hi, they came with the orbs from dollar tree.
Please put all materials used and where you purchased. I would like to buy the just like yours. Thanks, Mary
Hi Mary, trellis from dollar tree, jute rope you can buy anywhere, dollar stores have them too. I got mine from Amazon. Glue gun and sticks. That’s it. Good luck and share when you are done 😊
Happy Belated Birthday! Great job!
Thank you so much 😀
You did a fabulous job
Thank you 🪴🪴🪴
I think I would leave the rope off, and put the orbs in my landscaping!!
Sure, that’s what they are for in the first place 🪴
Great info💚
Love them! I'm trying to think of a way to use them. Hope your birthday was great!
Yes I had a simple birthday celebration, thank you! Please do share what you will come up with. I still have 2 to finish wrapping and would love to know more use for them.
Not bad .. I would try that
Yes, you will not go wrong. I have more projects like them in the coming weeks, hope you will check them out. All the best.
Happy (belated) birthday! Hope you had a great day! 🎉
Thank you.
I assume you cleaned your objects before painting them. I've never heard of chalk, acrylic matt paint. Thanks for the new ideas!
Yes, i wash/clean everything i bring in to the house from auctions/thrift stores. I have a video last September when I just did that to my haul.
Do you sell what you make?
No, but i should start doing that eh. I use them around the house for now but will do down the road.
I like what you did. I thought you did a very nice job!
Thank you 🪴🪴🪴
Have you ever had the compound dry and crack and fall off?
Hi, so far no, everything that I’ve done in the past are still intact🪴🪴🪴
Absolutely amazing, best I’ve ever seen ❤
Thank you, hope you can try❤️
