@@SkullTheLeglessthere is a way you can by changing the buttons and controls so only one joy con can control mario and the other for luigi via the settings and stuff but I don't wanna ruin my control for my switch over that. So me and my bro just sit next to eachother and just use the same controller thst way :p

Well you can't do this online obviously cause it's not designed for multiple but there is a way you can change your buttons and stuff on the switch via the settings I believe so only one joy con controls mario and the other controls luigi. But I don't wanna do that so my brother just puts his fingers on the a and X button for mario and I have mine on the B and y button for luigi. And I just control mario in the over world minus some parts in the over world as you saw with the wall climb and more stuff going on in the game. I hope this helped you somewhat :p
If you go to settings you can do button mapping and change all the d pad keys to the a b y X buttons to the left joy con so you and your sibling or friend don't have to hold hands basically when you are using your controller. One can hold one joy con for mario and the other luigi than. Me and my bro just tested it now. So there ya go friend! :3
