Whole Tone idea on Guitar #shorts

This phrase explores a Whole-tone scale idea structured around a five-note pattern that feels very natural and comfortable under the fingers. The pattern is particularly effective for outlining the unique color of the whole-tone scale, and it includes the distinctive #4 but also the #5 to emphasize its character. The concept was inspired by a technique I observed from Ant Law, and it captures a...

Great performance of a classic Wayne tune! Thanks for posting! Love seeing Bill playing again!!
Wonderful! I hope you tour the States and/or record an album!!
Killer!! Album?!?!?!?
Looking forward to seeing you guys at the Stables next year 😂
Bill !!!
Bill !!!
Pete Roth is great!
Where do I buy this??????
Very cool! I am dizzy now.
Subime.
I'd rather see him with Phil, Tony and Mike creating new stuff.
Yes, well unfortunately, that is not your choice that is Bill‘s choice 😊
sounds great.. but anything with Bill performing on it is great, eh? btw, how many cups of coffee did the camera man drink before shooting this?
Still impossible to air drum to after all these years.
Sounds great! Yay BB!!!
The Fender split-coil P bass sounds great. The only other recording I know of featuring a Precision in a trio is Joe Pass Resonance with Jim Hughart. Love that sound. Nice work guys!
Great music. Unwatchable video for me. Way too much camera movement. Was making me dizzy.
It makes me happy that Bill Bruford has come out of retirement again.
Exciting times, I am enjoying following the journey.
Another masterpiece from PRT, consummate skills on show👏👏👏
A beautiful performance by a multi talented trio, bravo!
Absolutely😊
Great to see Bill Bruford playing drums again!
Cool!
This is Mega !
Thank you!!
Great stuff! And the world has righted itself--Bill Bruford has returned to playing drums! Yeah!!
I have two degrees in music, but figuring out what you lot were talking about felt like doing long division in my head. I got there, but it took a minute…
@@jamesharmon7733 I'm just pointing out that the lydian dom and lydian aug are separate modes, each having own character, but all part of the same scale which also includes the alt scale
@@mikegeld1280If it wasn’t clear, my last comment was meant as a compliment. I love this stuff. It’s a great intellectual exercise for me. You’re awesome and thank you!
@@jamesharmon7733 yes of course, when I say cheeky, I'm talking about all the options there are for these cadences re lydian dom ,its great, the melodic minor scale is the best, like the other guy commented ,the whole tone scale fits right in there, its all relative,I do like the cheeky options we have here,it can make for some sophisticated phrases, if one uses these with great taste and style, cheers 👍
If its augmented its not really the lydian dominant, js 🤔 but cool little riff
Just curious. How would you call it? Not altered bc there’s no b9 for example
@cyrusvanderkroon7689 sure, there is the alt scale (one of my favorite)but when you write lydian dom ,its a certain character, at a point it's just an altered, which leaves alot of options js,btw both of these modes are found in the melodic minor, the 3 lydian aug,4 lydian dom, there is a difference
Shut up already lol
You are absolutely right, the pattern makes sense on the fretboard and generally outlines #11 and #5 since it also features the natural 9 it’s quite inside. Works a dream over Lydian dominant chords, static dominants, triton subs and if you don’t fancy to throw the kitchen sink at a resolving/functioning dominant chord. For me it’s more important that the idea is coherent. Thank you for checking it out in the first place and taking the time to comment.
@@cyrusvanderkroon7689well to be fair in essence this is a whole-tone scale pattern more that anything. Maybe time to change the title, I came up with it messing with Lydian dominant and possible triad (and 7th arp) that go with it.
No lo conocía
