Really cool art style, but what is that lock on and camera system?? Take this with a grain of salt considering that I haven't even played the game, but I don't think you need a lock on system for a fully 2D top down game.
Awesome question! The camera system is something I came up with since I haven't seen it done before. WASD moves in relation to which direction your facing, so the camera is moving with you so A and D will always be counter / clockwise. This makes moving while fighting and aiming feel a lot more fluid than like a traditional Hotline Miami, but it can get overwhelming without a sort of lock-on system. I'm open to experimenting for whatever *feels* good to play.
Keep up the good work, I want to be able to brag that I knew about this game before it blew up
