Even curating what you consume is a challenge since platforms now showing “suggestions” either mixed in with your feed (instagram) or right before it (UA-cam, TikTok, etc. I rarely watch TikTok, fortunately 😂)

Writing a novel is possible in a 30 day period. I think people wrote books and stories long before social media, computers, paper notebooks, type writers, and clay tablets.

I have recently felt writing tug on the string of my heart, pleading with me to return to it. I've been writing since I was 8 years old, and have enjoyed it so much, I started writing short stories, poems, and two novels. But when I went through some stuff, and got a job, writing hasn't been part of me, and was pushed out of my life. I am now rewriting a novel that I have been working on for 4 years, and your tips have guided me on this journey, and helped better my writing. Since I definitely consider myself a beginner, there is so much to learn, and I look forward to hearing all you wonderful tips! 🤗

*SHORT STORY* 10, 100? 1000? I dont know.. i have lost count of how many retry, to the point I lost my mind. I have remember of how much pain, my throat is after laughing maniacally as i realized im starting to decend into a bottomless PIT of madness. I have questions to my self "Why I'm a doing this?' After i got summoned into this world and finding out my unique ability, I thought i could change or become something. But in the end it was a wishful thinking. ".... I give up.... Im no hero. Im.. just a a normal guy" Ecxert from- *TIME LOOPER*

Thank you for this video. For months I've failed at following through a digital detox. I spend almost every waking minute watching UA-cam and sometimes Instagram reels. I can tell that I'm not as creative as I used to because of it. I heard someone say that social media addiction is just as bad as being addicted to smoking. And I 110% believe it because of my struggles with trying to take a break from social media. Every time I try I get withdrawal symptoms. I feel bored and I have the urge to just pick up my phone and watch UA-cam. You're definitely going in the right direction and I congratulate you for it. Social media addiction is definitely no joke and it's something that we all need to take a step back from.

Oh.. So it's too much to write which mineral salts are the best and which are not, contained in the soil in order to plant a certain type of fruit tree in the garden, on an extrasolar planet, where the seasons work differently, because the axis rotation has a different inclination than ours, on a distant island, hidden by mists, where the characters will never go, even if they paid them?😅

Honestly, for me I try to think of how my world's Biology, Geology, Astrology, etc, can affect characters and their environment. For example in a desert world, I WOULD add dangerous sand storms that forced characters to move around and give them hard choices as to where they must go. But, I would not personally go as far as going into the specific science as to how it works (that being said, it is a cool detail that - might - work if written as a part of the plot). If anything, just remember that the most important thing to know about a gun is WHO it shoots and not HOW/WHY it shoots.

I love your videos! In fact I've used your video to help me write the rought draft my first short story. I do have a question if you have a moment. I was wondering in the save the cat beat sheet for a whodunit novel it says the detective does not change but the audience does. So I was wondering how is it possible to wrtie an enjoyable story when the protagonist does not undergo character arc? Thank you for your time.

As a person with chronic nightmares, i try to forget my dreams as often as possible because theyre often horrific/gorey, and usually involves the terrible and gruesome deaths of those i love most. 0/10 do not recommend 😂 so the less i can recall, the better. I feel like I tend to lean on dialogue too heavily. Like everything thats happening is being conveyed through my characters speaking. Any advice there, or is it a good thing? I'm not sure whats too much/not enough. Its like 2 paragraphs of scene set up then what feels like pages of conversation and inner monologue 😂
