I come from North India, Punjab Curry is a British word When British came to India they called every dish having gravy as Cuurry.But Indian dishes are much more than that.They are diverse.😊
When I visited India, I wondered why Indian friends said "curry" less for dishes that I thought were some kind of curry. Now I can understand that reason from your great comment. Thank you for sharing the great knowledge. For the Japanese, this kind of gravy sauce dishes are curry or stew. We just say ***-curry or ***-stew, like tomato curry. But I understand that for Indians they say special name like "Matar Paneer" instead of ***-curry. They each have a special name. It is an interesting cultural difference 😊
