What is the theatre of global emergency? How do we transform ‘climate grief’ into ‘climate action’?” Through innovative, powerful storytelling, Anthropocene Future/s is a call to action-part of the urgent global discourse around the climate crisis. ‘Anthropocene’ is the controversial and contested term categorizing a new and dangerous geological age caused by human action. Anthropocene Future/s, grapples with climate change in a devised physical theatre performance that brings together movement, text, innovative media, and sound design to tell a story about the escalation of consumption and how we are hurtling towards an unsustainable future. Anthropocene Future/s illuminates a choice point-do we continue along this path or do we take action? The climate emergency is now. In the words of Rebecca Solnit, “It is late. We are deep in an emergency. But it is not too late, because the emergency is not over. The outcome is not decided. We are deciding it now.”
