Question for just in general: before BookTube was this your reading pace or did you rev it up for the channel? I don’t get that vibe from you, that this is performative, and you’re one of the most voracious readers I have come across. I hope this video has a jump start for the slump. 😊 Happy Belated One Year on UA-cam 🎉
@@ayragon thank you 😊 I've always been a reader that devours a book. The two years prior to starting my channel, my pace was slightly slower because I was getting my Masters, so that occupied most of my free time. But it truly is my favorite hobby and what helps me step away from reality for a bit. I'm not much into TV, so instead, I read!

I am also experiencing a reading slump 😩 September has been so busy for me so far and after I come home from work I just want to stare blankly into space. It’s very hard for me to find the brain power to read and understand what I’m reading and find enjoyment. It also doesn’t help that the last book I read took me FOREVER to get through due to everything going on. So I’m going to take a small mental break from reading, feels like it’s turning into a chore rather than enjoyment. 😵💫
@@KaeliB1 this is exactly how I have been feeling! I just can't fully concentrate on what I'm reading because of everything else going on and that is taking the enjoyment out of it. Hopefully you manage to make it through your slump soon and can get back to finding enjoyment in reading! ❤️❤️

I loved The Bodyguard and Book Lovers, both were so cute!! Tress of the Emerald Sea is one of my favorite books I’ve read this year so far, so glad you loved it! Love Brandon Sanderson and am slowly working my way through the Cosmere, haha. My favorite book I read in August was a re-read of Remarkably Bright Creatures! 🐙

My favourite book for August was Royal Assassin by Robin Hobb. If you want to read an amazing series read the farseer trilogy by Robin Hobb. I love your reviews. I have had to make a few extra trips to buy books you have reviewed.

I really liked The Reappearance of Rachel Price, Final Girls, How to become the Dark Lord and Die trying (Audio was great!), All Rhodes Lead Here, Funny Feelings and Mixed signals were meh to me, Bride. It's hard to see the rest of your cart but yeah, those are the ones I can recommend. :D

Hi Emily! I have been a viewer for a while now! How do you stay so determined to finish a book even when its dragging on? I am currently reading 6 books because I get bored so quickly! If you have any advice I would love to hear them! 🩵🩵
@@yoursquishay8715 hi! Thanks for being here 😊 Honestly, I'm extremely stubborn. Lol. That's probably why I just push forward. I will DNF or soft DNF a book if I'm just not vibing with it, but most of the time, I just push through. I also don't read more than one book at a time. That may help because then my focus is just on getting through that one book so that I CAN move onto the next. Sometimes it's all about the timing. If a book is hard to get through, put it back on the shelf for a bit and then pick it back up when it feels right.

Wow, 31 books, amazing!!! 👏👏👏 I also read the Part of Your World series in July and loved it! Just For The Summer was my favorite 😍 Some others that I loved in July were The Things We Cannot Say, Parable of the Sower, and A Man Called Ove!

I’m gonna recommend for books by older author Ellery Queen He’s the writer but he’s also the main hero in most of the books there is some books that he’s written where he’s not in it at all . 1 calendar of crime Ellery Queen this collection of short that each revolve around a different month of the year. 2. Inspector Queen’s own case by Ellery Queen . This Ellery recently retired father gets to solve a case by him self with out his sons help and romance as well . I’ve only read a few Ellery Queen novels I’m more of Rex stouts Nero Wolfe fan Those I can recommend two Off the bat 1. The mother hunt 2. Too many cooks .
The TBR gods Are probably As follows 1. Athena. 2. Elvis Presley 3. Abraham Lincoln 4. Winston Churchill That is in my theory who the gods of TBR are Athena would be the Queen of this group .
