Yeah, I hose it down good, then I dry with a micro fiber cloth so it sort of buff's it as I dry it. Then I lube the chain with the WD40, which I have used for decades after trying countless other lubes....

Hey there, yeah it's a tuff call, but I prefer the better suspension and components, so I would say yes it is worth it.

I could not believe it either, which is why I made this video even though I did not know as much as I know now....

I went and got the one up alloy in grey but they don't have and play like these do in and out when pull them there just solid in place and spin real nice to my oil slick sam hills I had on! These are brand new and hated them! The pedals don't spin unless foots on them and felt they had such a weird offset making my right foot point out and was clipping the crank! All better now with the one ups! But that's 200 bucks for stupid pedals! The sam hill oil slicks haven't a mark on them and they are now discontinued so I'll put them back in the box for future like my old Rob warners lol

I just double-checked the one-ups I got this week. They don't pull in and out; they're totally solid and only spin. But maybe when they tighten and pull up against the crank, it could just be taking up room for them to tighten or something? But I changed the pins out straight away for thicker ano blue pins as went and got these new Peatys monarch grips in grey with blue lock ring so should all look good n match!

Awesome to hear and yeah when I tightened up the OneUp peddles on my T8 that in/out movement went away on mine as well.

No I have not tried that since I already have battery powered lights...

On my bike it is just part of the electronics and it is ON by default...

Hey Carlos, no the rear gears are normal thumb shifter style with rear derailer. The motor assist only works only when peddling as well.

haha, thanks Amy and it's only dangerous if you crash ;) Those pedals have insane grip, and apparently a bunch of the Red Bull riders use them as well, so the durability must be off the charts. Time will tell, but so far loving them on the Polygon T6E. All the best, Jay

It's the best seat I have ever tried for sure and I wish I upgraded way sooner. The difference is really remarkable and it feels like a lazy boy comparatively as crazy as that sounds. Thanks for the comments!

Thanks man! It's about 1lb less all said and done if you want to get technical ;) The valve stems weigh almost nothing and the slime is just a few ounces per wheel... In addition the weight savings is rotation mass, so you can feel it more than say a lighter seat or peddles for example. But yeah, it's not much and just one of the benefits to going tubeless... Thank you :) I have never ridden a fat bike, but they look pretty fun for certain types of conditions I would imagine. I'm not sure how heavy your bike would be compared to the this T6E for example, but the T6E is approx. 53lbs with the tubeless set-up I have on it currently for reference. I would imagine the smaller tires would yield a lot for ground feedback and allow for some different trail riding experiences, but never riding a fat tire myself it's hard to say for sure from my perspective.

That is a very difficult decision Richard honestly... I am torn myself with the thought of selling my T8 for the T9. However I am still not in the best shape and can't really plow very long on hard trails without dying, so I would consider the T7E for trails or N8E geni.us/ewY12 for the beefier overall package allowing for hardcore downhill as well. I heard Polygon might be coming out with a T8E soon and that is what I am waiting to possible purchase over the T9. The T9 geni.us/4J7Rr having better almost everything over the T6E and T7E makes me want that bike the most, but the motor has become so addicting and enjoyable. So much less suffering and more fun is the issue, and I am not about suffering when I can only get out 1 or two days a week. If I were you I would factor in how much suspension beefiness you want, then I would consider between the T7E geni.us/uZmyjC, N8e, and T9... If you are unsure about the motor, perhaps barrow a friends or rent a bike for a bit to get a feel for it, because it is a significant change, and it can be quite a bit more money as well. I can tell you the N8E feels leaps and bounds better than my T6E suspension and component wise, and my buddy Steve just got one.... I hope that helps and all the best, Jay

Thank you Jay I wasn't expecting such a nice reply and it helped me very much. There's a reason my gut said don't get that T7E. T8E coming. N8E I dont need all that enduro for Texas. So. I ordered the T9 after 4 years in a hardtail that I will never give up. The T9 will provide fun I hope while learning suspension. Then down the road I will go with E bike. I can keep up at 58 after losing 30 lbs saying goodbye to sugar. Anyway T9 it is for one day, rotate my hardtail another day. I ride an e bike Aventon Pace to work. (Comfort bike) Great Channel really nice of you to reply thank you again. You know the T8E will come with Fox and maybe Bosch. The other concern I had was maneuvering a 50 plus pound electric around tight switchbacks, punchy short loose climbs, tight cliffside single track. I think I understand the ebike allows you to go enjoy maybe the more even terrain versus techy rock climbs and step ups. You choose where to ride your ebike. There is no way the T7E could repeat some of the trails that I run on hardtail 29lb bike. But one day.......

Hey Richard, you're very welcome and anytime! I think you will very happy with the T9 and I also think your instincts about the T7E are also correct based on my T6E experience so far. I'm loving the T6E, but I rode my T8 the other day and as expected the suspension is so much noticeable better it's a real thing. If you never had a better suspension you won't notice, but if you did you will certainly notice when it's not as good... The T9 has a killer suspension!! I would go tubeless immediately and just order the valve stems and goo at the same time as the bike would be my suggestion. If you've never done that conversation yourself, I made a highly detailed beginner oriented tutorial on the entire process with the T6E here: ua-cam.com/video/8_tlN32bBC0/v-deo.html Your concerns about navigating the weight on tricky sections is valid, but honestly based on my experience it's not much of a difference, because you have the motor assisting you which pretty much cancels out the weight in those scenarios believe it or not. I am riding the tech stuff pretty easy and I can still hope the bike around easy enough if I have to. Mind you I don't have to hop the bike that often where I ride, but wheeling over stuff and things like that are all very easy on the e-bike. Bunny hoping stuff at speed on the other hand is not near as easy due to the weight. Larger logs I have to slow down to get over as apposed to bunny hoping on my T8 for example, but again, fairly rare situation and and adjustment to the E-Bike comes with a learning curve for sure. I really hope the T8E has the Bosch motor, but I doubt it. Fox shocks are most likely I would think based on all the other models and the T9 specs in particular. I am ordering the Te7. Still have my do it all hardtail if I want to go suffer! Austin, Tx is not mountains. Hot summers I want the motor assist. T9 has good suspension yes. But around here? My 120mm does fine on hard tail. I don't do drops. Just want to ride more and not exhausted. So your video sold me. I could get the T9 higher specs, but till human power. Do hardtails when I want hardtail fun. Other days, T7E. Hope t7e the right call over analogue with better suspension t9. Ugh

If you don't do drops and Texas is mostly flatter the T7E suspension will be fine. You don't really need the Fox 36 unless you are doing really chunky stuff and jumping big in my opinion... Like I said earlier the T6E suspension works great overall, but if you are used to "better" it is noticeable is all I was trying to get at from my experience. I really think you will be happy with the T7E, because it's the next level better suspension over the T6E and in combination with your 120mm hard tail it will feel like a dream ride suspension wise. In an addition with the motor you be able to ride so much further, and if you desire faster as well as up hills not normally possible. I have not rode the T7E myself, but I have several friends that have and they told me the suspension is noticeable better than the T6E I have encase you were wondering about that in particular. Hey there, and sorry for the delayed reply... If you hold the mode button down it brings you into the menu and there is a clear option. That will reset the distance for you.

@@jasonsmountainbikereviews I see, thought that clear option would reset everything (like also profile settings). Thats why I never selected it.

I just cleared it on my T6E and the Odometer and profiles did not change. I was a little nervous it would wipe everything also, but it does say DST is what's being cleared...

Makes total sense to me and another fantastic technology innovation to help people have fun they would otherwise not be able to have, or at least with not near as much enjoyment and/or comfort. Just getting out there is so important in my opinion and the less friction the better, especially as we get a bit older and parts start to break down. My Dad is pushing 75 and he is consider and e-bike for the same exact reason you mentioned. He just does not want to stress the joints anymore than necessary to avoid injury, but still wants to keep moving, exploring rail trails and stuff like that. Not exercise? That is like saying walking on a tread mill is not exercise either? Like I said in the video it really depends how good of shape you are in, and people that are in great shape will not need to use the assistance near as much. You could have easily turned off the e-bike and got a killer work out if you wanted, but chose not to. Why? I'm suspecting you wanted to have "more fun with less suffering" since you rented the E-bike? The E-bike gives you the option to dial in your experience. If you don't have any self control, you might just run in boost all the time, but that is not what I am doing as I said in the video I am using less and less assistance as I get in better shape. Of course you dont break a sweat, if you choose not to, while cranking up the support. Which is fine, if this is the goal you were aiming at. But renting an e-bike, set it on full power and then complaining that it is not a workout, sounds pretty fabricated - to justify your cause - to me. The question remains: What do you gain with doing that?

I only rented one because we were on a family outing and just wanted to tour the trails one day. I was curious what it would be like, and like I said it was a lot of fun, but like I also said, I would get so fat and lazy if I bought one instead of sticking with my normal bikes. It would be stupid to ride one with the power off because they are pigs and don’t handle as well as lighter bikes, and I don’t have the self control to dial the boost back just to get a workout. I’ve been on rides with friends with e-bikes both mountain and long gravel rides, and I have yet to see any of them dial boost back on steep hills to get a workout. I guess if you really do that, more power to you, but then why even bother. I commuted thirty miles a day for ten years and never once thought about getting an ebike because it would have defeated the purpose. After renting the bike last week I’m so glad I never bought one because I know I’d be twenty ponds heavier. There’s just no workout at all if you use even moderate boost. Such a joke to say otherwise.

@@arkos55 Ah, I see. Reasonable conclusion there. The good thing for me is that I can ride my enduro emtb to work with quite high support and reach it after 20km without smelling the part. After my shift, I hop back on, dial the support on the lowest setting and just blow all the steam out of my system and reach home with a clear mind. And on my rides with friends I can choose however I feel like that day.

@arkos55 Fair points and yes it takes self control to not use the trail and boost modes for sure. In my situation I usually am riding with friends that don't have e-bikes, so I don't need trail or boost mode and just use Eco to get a nice reasonable workout. Also, because I am clearly not nearly in as good shape as you are, I do still get out of breath and sweat in Eco mode. I also when using trial mode get completely out of breath, because I tend to go much faster than I would otherwise. Averaging 5-10 miles an hour faster on the trail still takes a lot of energy for someone like myself. I have 2 friends with E-Bikes and both of them rarely use boost mode, sometimes use trail mode, but mostly just use eco mode. We do occasionally hit up trail mode for fun just to see how fast we can go, but again that leads to me getting completely exhausted and out of breath also. If I were to ride in trail mode at 5 mph I probably would not break a sweat or get out of breath though to your point, but that is not how I chose to ride. I dial it in so I get a decent workout to fun ratio. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts and coming back to clarify... All the best, Jay

I've been thinking about to for a few years as well, and it's even better than I anticipated possible... A friend I met in Vermont had one and he told me not to even ride it, because once I did it would be all over. I didn't ride it as tempting as it was at the time, because I knew then. Case in point, I have not touched my awesome Polygon T8 since I got the T6E, and part of me feels bad for the T8. All the best and thanks for the comments, Jay

Yeah, these new bikes can handle a lot of abuse for sure, but I would not be going off huge drops with the T6E myself. Something like the N8E geni.us/ewY12 for an E-Bike would be a bit more capable for huge bike park hits, but you can certainly jump the T6E really good as it is. In addition if you don't want an E-Bike you can look at the new T9: geni.us/4J7Rr

Hello, I'm actually borrowing the bike from BikesOnline geni.us/5zfZ and my full highly detailed regular dude perspective T6E review is here: ua-cam.com/video/fcDfaALWXYk/v-deo.html I plan on sending it back at some point, but I am currently really enjoying the E-bike experience. I went for a 16 mile ride yesterday with my friends who are in much better cardio shape than me. I was able to use Eco mode which is the least help, and I could keep up with ease. Every once in a while on a long climb I would witch to trail mode and just easily cruise up the hill. It has taken me a decent amount of time to get used to the motor and extra weight of the bike, but overall I really love it. I like the suspension on the T8 better, and I like the lighter weight of the T8 better, but having the motor is a huge fun factor game changer. On the way out of the woods on the last trail I put into boost mode and went as fast as I can go... Talk about crazy fun hitting trails at a 50% faster speed than I ever had before which is nuts! Really changes the game if you want to use a lot of power, otherwise it can just help you go along at regular speed with much less effort. If you really want a workout you can turn the motor off and ride it like a normal bike.

@@jasonsmountainbikereviews After returning the bike are you going back to a traditional analog mtb or would you plan on buying an e-bike for yourself? The prospect of riding one of these seems really fun but I wouldn't want to be spoiled by all the power to the point that the incentive for riding a regular bike disappears.

I plan on buying an E-Bike for sure, because it's way more fun and honestly that is my top priority at this point in my life. I also want to be in shape and get good cardio exercise, don't get me wrong, but you can go so much faster on an E-Bike the fun factor is off the charts comparatively.... I still have my T8 and I still ride it, but depending on the area I am riding the E-Bike is a far better option in my mind.
