    I have been using Scarpa Terra GTX for the 5 years regurally for hiking and forest walks in in March-November and for everyday usage at winter in the city. Of course, as a result of constant contact with stones and bushes the leather, first of all at their noses got scraped. But boots are still water-resistant - e.g. I can cross streams, walk for kilometers through puddles, dew and wet mud (I use Zamberlan Waterproof cream and Nikiwax wax for the impregnation, therefore I don't know does membrane works or not now). Boots are very comfortable and have really light weight. The soles are shock-absorbing and provide good contact with the ground. I guess, its one of the best choices fot that budget(130-160 eur). My collegue wouldn't like to repeat my experience with the scraping of the noses and bought Scarpa Mistral GTX. His point was that suede is not vulnerable for scrapes, and gtx should provide waterproof gualities as in Scarpa Terra gtx. His imperssions was similiar to my conclusions about Scarpa Terra GTX. But after 8 months of usage, crossing the stream, he noticed that his boots leak water inside through the ventilation holes (probably, gore-tex at this place lost their qualities after few months of exploitation). The same issue I had with Scarpa Mojito gtx mid. So my guess is that Scarpa Terra GTX is little bit more better than Scarpa Mistral GTX thanks to the absence of ventilation holes.

    Callum was put down by vets this week (June 2024) due to his ill, elderly health. He brought smiles to countless faces and will be greatly missed by both locals and visitors to the area. He will forever be a Scottish legend!

    This was my first tent I ever bought and I still using it to this day mainly for two nights away and it seems fairly good and now upgraded to 3 person tent with a built-in porch from the same company so I’ll see how that goes. The two men one I think that yes you could definitely get two people in there but what if you had luggage as well backpacks etc you wouldn’t get them in so obviously it’s great for me because it’s just me that uses it but like you said that little porch type whatever area is definitely not great.

    Thanks for your video. I've owned the suede ones and really liked them. Lots of tramping around in the woods and Muir's, also wore them one a few shoots out in the woods and fields. As soon as you put them on you feel at ease in then. I've since worn them to destruction and now have the leather boots also in your video. Initially they were slipping on my heels but I made some adjustments with the laces and managed to tighten them up a bit but without restricting the blood flow in my feet which is always an issue I have. Ending up with cold feet as a result. Loose boots and thick socks (for me) mean toasty feet. A year later, how do you look back and rate the leather ones now? Cheers

    • @SaltNPepperChips
      @SaltNPepperChips 10 місяців тому

      I prefer the leather boots over the suede version but a chunk of grip came off so my experience of Scarpa boots hasn't been as good as it could have been. Will try a different brand next time

      @@SaltNPepperChips well I had two pairs of Scarpa trek gtx (the new model that just launched in spring 2023) they are canvas rather than leather and they delaminated where the surrounding rubber protection just split from the main body of the boot within 10 miles of owning each pair... Terrible. Replaced them with a leather pair of more tried and trusted Scarpa and fine so far. (I'm on the move so can't recall all the model names exactly at the mo).
