To celebrate us working with Jacob Gibbins at Aspect Media on a much more refined version of this film's concept, we thought it would be a good time to relaunch 'Resilience: Birth of a Movement'. This film was initially made for a 6 monthly night called "One More Brew", where local creatives with a passion for MTB would come together to show off their work over a keg of beer. This film was then...

i have to admit, i shed some tears watching this, because i can relate to it such much !!! BRILLIANT WORK !!!
Thank you for this. And warm wishes to everyone.
😶❤💚
Thanks.
I was moved by this short film. I am currently going through a difficult period in my life; depression and I have just learned that I am bipolar type 2. And ADHD. I often had dark thoughts and no longer had any desires. But without really knowing why, I managed to go cycling, sometimes for 15 minutes or sometimes for 2 hours. Now I know that am not alone! Thank you.
Thank you for this film. ❤
Absolutely inspiring❤️🇰🇪👏🏿🚴♂️🔥
Thank you for sharing your battles. Fully agree with the explanation of resilience. That is one of the best lessons my father left me.
Beautiful film, perfect depiction of why I ride and an emotional story. Luckily I also recognise a lot of the locations. Thank you.
I've been biking locally for a yr now after not getting on a bike for 15yrs. It helps depression after losing my close sister to alcoholism and losing my nephew suddenly and losing my mom. Lost two dogs in that time had to major surgeries and now my daughter moved away. Not too far away but biking helps me feel connected to something. 😊
Beautiful, honest, real people facing real hard things and how biking in nature with fellow people helps. I recently had a health scare and this event had an impact on me. Been struggling to put myself back out there on the bike and opening myself up to meet people. My health is good and I’m going to slowly get myself out there again. Thanks for reminding me it’s worth it!
💛
What a beautiful film and moving film, thank you 🙏
Great job 🚲 ❤
Such a wonderful, moving and inspirational story! I have immense gratitude for the simple pleasure of biking, it has given so much to me and I’m committed sharing that message with as many people as possible in the hope it will give them the peace and clarity it has given me! ❤
Beautiful, so well put together and thank you for doing it. I didn't realise, even after 30 years of riding just how much bikes were to me until it got ill, those rides solo and with mates made all the difference and helped me see the brighter and better side of things. I hope others realise that you are not alone, others are there for you and maybe feeling the same way and going for a pedal may just help you see that. RIP Nils and thank you for this.
Very nicely filmed... great message.
So inspirational (and brilliantly made!). Definitely think biking has helped me through life, maybe more than I thought having watched this ❤.
Just superb
Emotional, inspiring... Thank you for sharing each and every story. RIP Nels.
Brilliant, Inspirational what a fantastic film. Whilst my problems are small in comparison I do feel that sense of freedom and joy, a resetting of the mind when after a ride. I love it from the first pedal turn to washing and cleaning the bike after knowing I'll be out again soon.
What a perfectly crafted film. Thanks guys. Thanks to Nils, Sam and Rach for sharing their stories so candidly, and thanks to the creative team for putting it together so beautifully. If ever anyone needs persuading that riding a bike will help them through hardship, this is the film they'll need to watch. ❤
Just fantastic! Thank you so much for doing this.
Ride in Peace Nils.
Awesome video! Bicycles have literally saved my life, when I was going through the darkest times in my life riding always helped me to find joy again 💯♥️🚲

Ridding my bike is my church.. Amazing film
Inspiring and uplifting. Thanks to you all . I replaced drinking with riding also , it truly helps on many levels. 🙏.
Soo beautiful ❤ l am crying
Reading everyone's comments and personal stories is so amazing. So heart warming to see that Nils was 100% on the right track with Rider Resilience and it's mission, and the film has found the right people 🙌❤️🚲
Absolutely brilliant well done 👏
I'm another one who either changed their life through cycling or cycling changed my life. Twenty-five years ago, my life fell apart through drinking, and a part of that was losing my driver's licence. I bought a bike for transport, but something strange happened. Every time I rode the bike, I would finish the ride feeling euphoric. Tired, but euphoric. Twenty five years later I have a drivers licence back but I still keep riding because it makes me feel good and helps me deal with my problems. BTW: I don't need to drink any more.
Awesome film! The meshing of three stories into one theme, the stunning cinematography, the exposing of heart-wrenching truth... All phenomenal 🙌🏻
Thanks for this video! I find it hard to ride when I’m stressed. I don’t know what to do about that.
I find that fresh air and exercise helps to clear my head and reset. I cannot afford a car so I have to ride to work and do things. In some ways the more you do something the less resistance your thoughts and mood present to stop you. As the season changes and it is cold and dark and messy, it is difficult to feel motivated and just not do things. And it is only going to get worse...But as I get out there a bit everyday to ride or walk somewhere it becomes easier to do it. I don't know anything about you or your situation but I hope this is helpful.
I can't say how happy I was to stumble across this video. This speaks volumes to many of us who have turned to cycling as not just a sport, but a grounding mechanism to battle the challenges life throws our way, myself included. I have always found that no matter how difficult things become, getting out and turning the pedals always seems to bring some clarity, even if for a moment, or until the next ride. Thank you Rider Resilience for this touching video. RIP Nils.
I am almost at the lowest point of my anxiety and depression condition, and this short video is truly inspiring, hopefully tomorrow can be the begining of something that has been left behind for quite a while for me. Thank you so much for this beautiful short story telling!
Stay strong .🤟
HOOO MY GOD ( CRY OUT ) NO WORDS , THANK YOU LORD
Thank you so much for this film
This is so powerful to watch! Moving and inspiring ❤️
Thank you for this film, beautifully crafted, motivational and inspiring. One I think we all need to see and share as we all have our own problems and issues to deal with throughout our lives, although some of us clearly have awful stories but despite them, we can all take a positive approach to reducing our own ones. Personal I have my own problems to deal with but I can see how this message can help myself but can also help others in my family and from that who knows. Thank you again and Best wishes , Mark
I suffered acute clinical depression and still am but once I got on my first bike ride 20years ago I felt much much better to manage my condition.I am at peace now because of cycling .This video I can identify with any day thanks
