I would like to see Mancini out there on opening night. He is young and i feel now is the best time to have him play on a shift to get acclimated with his line mates. Coaches need to stop using the same players and let the young guys play because you don't want to replace a injured player with someone you have not assessed is RISKY.

Yes he does need a huge season on defense, goals, points and consistency he's been on the team long enough.

Jon, I believe your assessment of slow starts for KM is unfair. Consistency wise, I agree with you on this point. Same could be said for CK who seems to disappear for games at a time.

Ruhwedel should take Lindgrens place for the time being...they play a similar type of game and he has the most experience. It might be a challenge for some of the others to play 1st line D mins. As for Miller he's best with Schneider but Jones needs to be our PP2 QB period

I like what I have seen from Mancini in camp this far, definitely a replacement consideration for Trouba at some point. As far as opening night I can’t see a rookie playing his off position, so which RD goes to LD? I really wish Scanlin wasn’t banged up so we could get a look at him.

Edstrom is playing well as is Rempe. Hope Ed makes the team. Lindgren should have waited for Rempe to take on Mayfield on his next shift.

Ryan Lindgren had no business being the one to stick up for Fil after the knee on knee hit. If Ryan doesn't understand by now his body is prone to injury than the coaching staff needs to come in and tell him to be smarter. Even if he came out of it unscathed, he's off the ice for 17 minutes. Courage doesn't cut it anymore.

Good show, today. But I want to point out the great play Trouba made, on the 2nd Zac Jones goal. Trouba came into the Islanders zone, along the boards: as the Islanders tried to clear the puck out; Trouba pulls off a high jump, reaching up high and effectively knocks the puck down. Then, he skates the puck deeper....and makes that pool table pass. He probably was looking for ZBad. But damn, it ended up being an absolutely perfect pass for Jones to immediately step into the one timer. Perfection!! Happy to hear you giving props to Trouba. Trouba made several very good offensive attack plays, last night. Including the shot Edstrom beautifully deflected, in for the goal.

I turned it off at the end of the second period and chalked it up to just being a preseason game. I couldn't believe my eyes this morning

They are not going to have the cap space to resign Lindgren. They've got Igor and LAF to resign. They'll definitely move truoba at the end of the year to make some of that space but Lindgren is Dan girardi 2.0 you love the guy but you also know he's so susceptible to injury

I’ve been thinking that Kakko would thrive on the kill for a few years now. He’s got the endurance the size a defensive skillset and he always seems to do well when given space and time on the ice. And having him on special teams consistently could bring out a good side of his game. I get that people want him traded while he still has value. I get he hasn’t produced considering his high drafting. But if we don’t trade him which is my hope I think he’ll be a valuable piece of our middle six for a long time and stay cheap. Who does what he does defensively, and on the boards for his asking price. Very few. And to have someone like that is inherently valuable even if you wanted some more on the score sheet. I respect the guy and his game. Unless we can get a haul for trading him to a rebuilding team like Anaheim or San Jose which seems unlikely I just don’t see why he needs to leave.

I think that The Rangers should have let Tony D play out his Contract, rather than let him sit for the year, then trade him at The Trade Deadline, with only months to go in The Contract. Let me know what you think

I think that the move to get rid of Tony D'Angelo was stupid, on the part of The Regime of John Davidson & Jeff Gorton. I wasn't thrilled with The Trade for him & The Signing of him, but, as you said, "Boys Will Be Boys" & I think that they would have put it behind him. Even given my take on Tony D, to get him to sit for all that money & let him go to The Rival, in The Carolina Hurricanes was very stupid & likely was one of the reasons, if not The Reason, John Davidson & Jeff Gorton were let go by Jim Dolan. I think that The Rangers should try to get Shayne Wright from The Seattle Kraken, because, from what I heard, Brendan Othmann & he played on lines in Juniors or others & they had been great together. Let me know what you think
