Great interview here. The thing about milk prices is never abstract. Milk prices are never determined by milk processors or brokers. These organisations have costs of production to consider. If a farmer is to go the milk processing way, we would appreciate the low prices of milk (as sad as it is). Milk prices, historically, have never kept up with feed prices. Do not expect that to change. Milk is not being consumed as it used to be (unless we crack value addition away from just youghurt and create options). The easiest way to be in this business is to produce your own fodder (whether maize silage, boma rhodes or nappier) and probably maize for flour or maize germ.
