I used to do it like this, as per the instructions of my chiropractor, but more recently I've started doing them standing up. It's just as effective, without the discomfort of having your face against the ground (I always find that annoying, as it's hard to breathe in that position).

When you sprain your ankle, the ligaments in the ankle over stretch but also ligaments that run lateral on the extensor digitorium longus which is a muscle in your leg that is superior to the ankle get over stretched as well.

I'd argue that before this move, just holding the hip centrated in an upright lunge, with front knee over ankle, no movement, should be mastered first. Just this alone is very tough for most people. If you do what you're suggesting in this video first you are essentially running before you can walk and this can create compensation patterns. Would love to hear your thoughts!

Had to do seated calf raises on a leg press for a while but then was back to normal. And a month after that I had a twist in my meniscus. Same deal. Common misunderstanding, they are lumped in with the plantar group due to their original off the FDL (which is on the plantar surface), though insert onto the extensor expansion of digits 2-5 (dorsal surface). Also, another hint is their action, which is that of adduction, and wait for it...toes extension! If purely on the plantar aspects they would solely flex, not adduct, and certainly not extend the toes.. If only Google was right at the surface level every time and the body acted like a photo, but keep up the good detective work!
