My cavapoo is 40 lbs. His mother was a standard poodle.

I'm watching this video in 12/2024 after purchasing my first Cavapoo 16 week old female Cavapoo. I didn't want a big dog as I also have a toy male 15 year old maltipoo. She is a sweet pup who has a lot of patience with the old dog & myself. ( I'm 65 years old) I'm not overly energetic and I forgot how much puppies love to play. She is a lot of fun to watch. The seller must not have owned a tv because when the puppy saw mine she watched it intently. I can tell she is very smart. I am recently retired so I am home and ought to have the time to train her. My maltipoo is a good dog and has been missing a 9 year old female miniature schnauzer that passed away in July from cancer. Right now my Cavapoo ( LuLu) seems to be about the same size as my Miniature Schauzner was, only lighter in weight now. LuLu seems to have adapted to me and Gus well. She hasn't barked a lot, and seems to be catching onto the potty training. A lot of it is me not being quick enough to see when she's about to go. Accidents happen. I read Cavapoos adapt to the people they are with, which is good. Just myself & 2 dogs so it's a pretty quiet life style. 🙂🐶🐾

I’m looking to replace my beloved Bichon-based cutie. They appear to be heavier than my dog, that was 14 lbs and off-white. These are maybe 20lbs? It’s hard to believe these two are so different in personality. One thing about poodle mixes is you need to know which size poodle, toy, miniature or full, is a parent. I need to find one at less than the five grand the store wants. In Florida.

I love the positive vibes of your videos. I was so close to visiting NYC at one point myself. I had experience with modeling and in late 2015 I was in contact with Capcom about the facial likeness role of Leon for the Resident Evil 2 Remake. I failed to mention I also have a voice acting background, in the end I lost the part and I can't forgive myself for wasting such an opportunity. I moved from the suburbs to New York and cannot agree more. I do find that my cavapoo needs less dog park type activities in New York because he runs into so many dogs and sniffs so many things he’s generally more exhausted after a short walk in the city than when we lived in the suburbs.

Seems like some of the dog walking would actually be easier if one lived in a high rise, which would have an elevator, so at least you wouldn't have to carry your fur baby. Might not matter if a your dog is a little Yorkie, for example, but Cavapoos can get fairly heavy (for a small dog). How much do your boys weigh?

It should not take 20 min to explain this. Hang a bell rope on the exit from your home, if you can get one bell and keep it with your poo bags (not required) when you open the door to go out for toilet breaks ring the bells when they go toilet outside say your command words or ring the bell if you took it. My pup rings the bell all the time even when she’s just come back in. Carrot and stick, if you see them going toilet in the home tell them no of you catch them in the act. It took me a week to house break my pup. She was 5 weeks when I got her and with in 1 week she was no longer owing or pooping in the house, she’s had accidents at the front door and in the elevator but the larger she has gotten the less accidents there have been.

My cavapoo is on the large size approximately 17” tall at withers. About 26 pounds. My new groomer said her dad may have been a medium poodle not miniature.but I didn’t see the parents..my vet said her being taller means less heart problems.i didn’t even know about medium poodles..
