2006 with 205,000 miles, still running strong

It’s a good truck. I like those and the F150s.

I own one of these trucks. It’s a 2007 with the 5.7 Hemi as well. Bought it for $4500 from someone I knew and have now had it for 3 years. Rusty and beat up as it is, it’s been a very solid and reliable truck. Small things here and there but I just love it. Yes, the gas mileage is horrible but it keeps on going. 260,000 miles currently and all I’ve done is basic maintenance repaired other things as needed. For the most part it’s now just my beater truck for the winter months and I occasionally use it for hauling car parts as I now have a 2017 Ram 1500 Hemi as my current daily driver.

Not good to idle it the oil doesn’t splash high enough at idle to lubricate well

Does your seat sqeak when you press the middle of it

We got similar trucks.Mines a 06 and has 140k miles and is awesome.I don’t like high mileage but I’m the original owner and take good care of it

My 07 ram 1500 Laramie 5.7 4×4 it's right around 20 miles per gallon on the freeway if I keep it under 70 miles but at 70 miles an hour I get right about 18 mpg

Mine did the same thing with the oil pressure I changed the o ring on my dip stick and it quit dumbest thing

im about to hopefully buy an 07 ram, but it has front end clunking. anyone have ideas of what it could be?

I’ve had my 08’ with the 4.7L V8 since 98,000 miles. Zero drivetrain issues, zero engine issues, other than a water pump. Has 210k on it now, and it’s still solid reliable. I use the crap out of it towing and hauling too. No idea how many cars and tractors it’s towed since I got it.

I owned mine since it’s had 22,000 miles on it and now 180,500. I’m looking to upgrade but truck has been great. Had nothing powertrain break other then water pump at 160,000. I replaced gas tank but I hit a bad pot hole and think it damaged the evap switch. I have a 07 Laramie 5.7 l with mds. I’m going to keep truck when I get new Ram cause it’s been a great truck for my son to learn to drive on. I still tow my camper hrs away with it. Plugs are a pain to replace but weren’t even that bad when I replaced at 160,000 miles. Can’t wait to drive a 5 th gen. I do have blend doors that are broke and if I fixed right would cost over $2,000 to have dash pulled to fix so I just run with the windows down. Tires are surly expensive about $1,200 for a cheap set.

I got the same truck, if it dies like you say. It probably a dirty throttle body. You also got the last good ram truck from Mercedes German design. Not like the 2009 on camshafts and lifter problematics rams.

If you're worried about gas mileage don't buy a truck.

How much I pay for it or how much does one cost with a 160,000 miles on it?

Do you think a Ford or Chevy with the same power output gets better mileage ? I drive a 2017 F350 2 wheel drive extended cab with the 6.2 and it only gets 12 on the highway. Averages 9-10. That's horrible. You're trying to compare your truck to the mileage of a Colorado or some mini truck. NO 4x4 is going to get better than 14-16mpg. As for tire cost, honestly you're complaining ? 20's now a days cost NO more that 18's when you compare Goodyear to Goodyear. Again you're probably trying to compare Goodyear to Toyo or some Chinese branded tire. And 7 quarts of oil gonna break you ? WOW you're a cheap ass. Sell the Ram and go by you a KIA. Maybe you'll be happy.

I have a 07 dodge 1500 with the 5.7 as well and had have the gage read no oil pressure it’s a sensor right above the oil filter called the oil pressure sending unit or something like that it’s like 50$ and not to hard to fix

When I was driving home from the dealer it died out on me dash said “check gauges” along with a bell sound but never ever happened again

I have an 05 and it costs $115 to fill it up but it gets around 15mpg and my 02 Durango only get 13mpg. Great trucks. The 06 and up throw that code because the oil pressure isn’t high enough volume at idle to provide sufficient oil due to the MDS lifters with the pin releasing oil to allow the engine to go into 4cyl mode. The MDS system was not engineered very well. I’ve heard putting the hellcat high volume oil pump on these motors will prevent this from happening.

Bad gas mileage is right…you actually get good gas mileage. I avg 10 mpg towing or not in my megacab 1500 with 200k miles and no eng. or trans issues as of yet
