    This reminded me when my niece came to visit me a couple of years ago, and she redid my pantry which is also a working/storage pantry. What a lovely gift you gave your MIL. We don't need more stuff to dust at this time of our life, but having helping hands is a real blessing. Then to top it off you paid for her containers as well (I realize the husbands were included). Have a Blessed day and thanks for thinking of such a meaningful gift for your husband's parents.

    I have been doing the “less is more in 24” challenge since January 1st. It has been working great. I have been writing the item(s) down that I declutter each day so that times when I am away on vacation I can keep track of the missed days and either declutter things ahead of time or catch up by decluttering more when I’m back. It has been quite manageable. This past few weeks I have been working on physical photos/negatives/slides and have managed to get rid of two binders full so far. We are also planning a move in the next year so anything I can let go of now is something I won’t have to deal with then. Thank you so much for suggesting this challenge!

    I love to see what you declutter and why. Thanks to you, I have declutterred way more items than one a day for the year so far. You are so right in that decluttering one item daily develops this great habit. I hope you enjoy your summer with your family and look forward to seeing you do more decluttering videos. Thanks, Lorraine NSW AUSTRALIA 🇦🇺 🤗

    Though I live with few possessions, I started your "Less is More in '24" challenge a few weeks ago. It was astounding what I gathered. Things neatly organized in closets but unused. Was pleasantly surprised at the effect felt from passing on those items to people and places that could benefit. I like your approach to just "enough," particularly on the seasonal foods. Thanks for mentioning Amazon Prime Day! Never thought I was vulnerable to that sale . . . until I was!😆 It is definitely the scrolling that is the slippery slope. Wishing you and your family a Happy 4th, and an enjoyable summer.

      I recently spent 2 to 3 hrs each Sun decluttering a room in my house that was a result of everything that didn't go in a room after some decorating. One thing worked for me is to not just look for more storage boxes shelves automatically. I gave away storage boxes so I was forced to keep what I needed and that I could store in existing places in my home. I actually took 4 months and now still think too much stuff and there's not much left. Pleased to see I am not crazy snd it's an ongoing exercise. I do think very carefully more than ever about what I want need. Also employed a one in one out rule if I really need to replace things. Fab video love it

    Love your videos. It is so helpful seeing what others are decluttering and hearing why. I started a few weeks ago, doing one item a day- sometimes more. I’m loving it and have moved so much stuff out of my house. I had 4 lovely wine glasses my sister gave me years ago. I don’t drink and only use them once a year when I host our Bookclub group. So I decided to ask my friends to each bring their own wine glass 😉 and I gave them to my friend who was wanting more glasses. Yeh for us both. Thankyou for your great content and bravo to you and your hubby for raising your kids in a clutter free environment. I love that you have taught them to help each day. This weekend I got rid of a plastic bin that was in the back of my car that I had forgotten about and 6 cheap wine glasses I never use that were given to us when my in-laws downsized about 10 years ago. This has been a great challenge so far and it’s made me consider the stuff in our home differently. I have usually been staying with only one item a day in order to pace myself. Going to see how long I can keep this up without getting into other people’s stuff as I have already been minimizing for years.

    You are absolutely brilliant. As a kid if my mom said “we’ll have time for a game” I’d sh:+=/%t my pants and be out the door in 5 seconds. Having a travel card game is sooo smart. Probably great for family bonding too! I also love your emphasis that kids can be bored and there is no harm in that, teaches them to much so young. I grew in in a house hold that not having enough time and running behind caused violence, screaming and name calling, it was traumatizing for me as a kid so I really appreciate your approach and think your an awesome mom! Amazing video. For myself what helps is preparing night before, my outfit, what I’ll eat for breakfast and put the spoon and bowl on the counter, keys and water bottle by the entrance, etc

    Even though I declutter regularly I am still finding at least one thing to let go of every day in this challenge. It could be a pile of receipts from Christmas shopping or extra hair ties I no longer need. When I have a crazy schedule for a few days I set a reminder on the phone so I can catch up on missed days. @@simplehappy7025 I've really simplified my grocery shopping by just ordering groceries from Walmart. I used to worry about getting the best price per unit by going to Aldi for buying in bulk but I still over spent on our budget. But I save money by not going in the store lol i would buy more then I needed for my meal plan or things I thought I needed. Now I plan out my meals and buy exactly what I need for the week and pick them up. Another thing that helped simplify my meal planning was having a list of all of my families favorite meals, the recipes for them and my plan all on my notes app. I've successfully stayed on budget for a while now!

    • @ERICA850
      @ERICA850 5 місяців тому

      @@simplehappy7025 for me it comes down to what I spend weekly/monthly. We've been trying to save money and spending 1.5$ on box of tissues every few weeks seems to be most cost effective then spending 21$ every couple of months on a bulk pack. I like to do a walmart pickup because I'd impulsively buy things we didn't need, and spend over budget even if it was just things like butter on sale.
