Insulation Intel® Webinar: Optimizing Acoustic Performance in Pipe Systems
Переглядів 1332 роки тому
Multi-tenant buildings present unique acoustical challenges. One source of noise that’s often overlooked is the building’s pipe systems. Sounds of toilets flushing, “water hammer” and rainwater draining off the roof can all lead to dissatisfied, frustrated tenants. Engineers specifying pipe systems in multi-tenant scenarios need to take a proactive approach to the acoustics issues in the piping...

How great it would be if I can actually find this product! I’ve checked Lowe’s, Home Depot, Menards, all of them for 50 miles and no one has it or carries this. 🤦
Useless video

How large of shower can this go up to? can it do 5ft x 5ft
Each piece is 4' long, thats 8 foot total
Does the expansion tank on the chill water system need tube insulated?
JohnsMansville lost it's credibility many years ago! Remember the asbestos cover up?
This study that was done in rats trying to exculpate fibergass as a possible human carcinogen was biased. First of all rats are not humans. 2. The life cycle of rats is 12 months.(Watford.gov.uk) Use other animals that live 10 years or more and findings may be different. If you want to really do a good research exposure should be more than 24 try 5-10-30 years of exposure . 24 months is not a long-term exposure. Try 10-20-30 years . Fiberglass structure gets destroyed by high heat, water and acids, etc that change the appearance of fibers because they become destroyed into molecular size glass or nano size material . Looking for fibers using ligth microscopy hoping to find intact fibers ..fails to acknowledge that fiberglass original structure will be altered , broken down into smaller particles ( WA.gov/department of health) so expecting to find the typical fiber inside the cells is naive. No one talks that fiberglass is treated with formaldehyde which OSHA has classified Formaldehyde may cause cancer. (OSHA danger safety Sign)
Music too loud
I eat fibrglass
Thank you for this video! I was not aware my son’s mattress was made with fiberglass. Can you recommend a kit or a tester I can use to see if it’s safe for him to sleep in his room? I’m at a list and can’t afford to pay a company. Thanks
Follow up: durable vs biosoluble
anyone have the TLDR? Chronic and acute effects and PPE required? How much exposure is safe?
I worked at worked for a sheet rock manufacture, in sheetrock the mud which goes between to layers of paper , fiberglass is injecting into the mud of the gypsum for fireproofing . I tell you what that fiberglass and dry wall was atomized everywhere in the plant like piles of fine snow . Airborne and everywhere and nobody wore any masks. There is no way someone is going to tell me breathing in small microscopic sharp shards is perfectly fine or safe . I think downs corning and every other manufacturer paid and bought off the scientist , the lawmakers to write the reports that fiberglass is non toxic . So when you die from breathing it for yrs, they cant be held liable because we dont have a leg to stand on in court . If fiberglass makes you skin itch like crazy on the outside , what do u think is does to the lining of your lungs .
Does ASTM 84 certification can be used in Canada or only CAN/ULC 102?
I had been exposed to fiberglass micro fibers from airconducting that need to be repaired for more than 10 years, and it had wreck my immune system. Many micro wounds inside and outside our bodies posed a great risk to our well being.

I have a Question my bf started working with a job he has to make blankets for pipes there is fiber glass everywhere and the company only provides him with regular covid mask not the N95 masks. Is it dangerous to breath in because it gets in his immune system?
Q: how long do durable fibers usually last in the lung? A: you can look at the chemistry. Dodged that question hard.
This guy talks like a lawyer. (One sided and hard to trust)

They will later label fiber glass as unsafe I can't imagine how many workers suffered due to having to breathe in this material. It's dangerous it's like asbestos I read .

What about the petroleum industry? Inundated with exposure, plus combined with exposure to petroleum products such as acetone ,benzyne, etc...repetetive exposure through time? Fiberglass gas tanks, piping & components...?

How many years did they deny Asbestos was a killer, and how many years did they deny smoking was a killer, this will be the next one. You cannot believe what the manufactrurers tell you, as they have a vested interest, they will come up with the every study they can to counter any argument you put forward, and nearly all the studies will have been funded by the manufacturers.
Why dont you cut your elbows? Using the fluff shit is not good. Esp cold pipe. Everyone has an opinion and way to do it but you need to seal anything cold.
Jibber Jabber - its gonna be the next asbestos off illness but FIBRE GLASS IS MONEY. so hush hush
fibre glass has made me ill VERY ILL 40 years ago i was a GRP laminator for 18 months but although health and safety was strictly enforced ive suffered with glass fibres now saturate my body and the effects are out of this world- believe me my lungs arent the problem its the fibres in my body . i have vast amounts of photographic evidence and developed many techniques to extract it and studies of the effects on my body . I sleep in the glass as its pouring from my body and includes hairs and splinters dirt etc all trapped by the tiny fibres that will pass through the smallest sieve and can only be seen when clumped together like wool. i have many many weird and nasty findings and i have been working on this since i first noticed problems some 1 years now.
We had an issue were my daughters mattress which we were unaware had fiberglass when purchased, Amazon description was misleading, has been coming out. Of course Mattress tag says it has fiver glass, and not to open. We never opened the mattress cover. So she had been complaining of feeling itchyness or ants everytime at bedtime, looking at the sheets we can see the shininess onnit an shards of glass on the black bars on the bed. What are ways that you successfully removed fiberglass. I am in the process of getting in contact with mattress manufacturer, medical check ups and trying to get the mattress removed from the house safely without disturbing more of it into the surroundings. I am concerned of her breathing it in, ingestion of her and everyone in the household.

Oh my God I am so glad I found you I have suffered for the last 3 years I don't leave my room because it's in my skin I'm constantly pulling it out trying to make things better and more comfortable for myself but there's no relief it just keeps on coming doctors say oh well they look at your skin and you must be a tweaker or you're in la la land to be able to relate to somebody they're going to the same thing is a miracle to me I really wish that you get a hold of me and maybe together we can find green this makes me sick it's in my fingers my hands my hair my face everywhere I try not to disturb it but if I scratch there it is a new one my name is Vicki arnett email Arnett Vicky@gmail.com if you're comfortable please get a hold of me thank you so much for sharing God bless
I do have photographs thousands of photographs and evidence no one wants to help they let me sit in this okay take care
@@vickyarnett6057 Did you get it in your skin from a mattress? What brand of mattress?
So fiberglass is biosoluable: it’ll desolve by fluids. But will scratch up your lungs a bit. Where a mask!!!!!!
Where can I find the bio solubility of fibers depending on their composition?

Can please make webiner for selecting insulation thickness?
On the chilled water side of the video..... That is NOT how you create a vapour barrier. Those albos are not sealed. You must either silver tape over the entire amount of loose insulation, or put the vapour barrier back on where you pulled that white insulation from. Also piercing tacks through the fitting and insulation also break the vapour barrier.
My thoughts exactly. That shit will sweat for sure!
Thanks for the community service offering information for free. I enjoyed the presentation.
