Religion is weird, if you ask me.

I think works should come 'naturally' with Faith. If you make 'works' obligatory and one's heart is not in it, they don't count. As you turn to Christ, and want to become and live your life as a disciple of Christ, you will, overtime, come to find that your 'actions' aren't really works as man defines works. Your heart will guide you to do volunteering things as a gift, your actions will follow your heart and your faith. As you are transformed, you will begin to notice that you will start doing things becuase it make you and your spirit feel good, not because you are checking off some box. God doesn't keep score that way, so I think the premise of 'works' as 'mandatory actions...or else.... is incorrect. You will start doing things for His glory that you will no longer consider 'works' by man's definition.
