La fase iniziale del film è bellissima ,con l erba che si piega con il vento dei motori dei B17 . Questo inizio mi ricorda Salvate il soldato Rayan di Spilberg .forse Spilberg con l inizio dello sbarco si è ispirato a questo film.

The husband was soooooo jealous. She was a virgin when she became his girlfriend and then his wife. When she divorced him he went nuts, bugged her phone and apartment, he was a stalker, he knew when she was home or not and had access. He could have been hiding in a closet in the the apartment waiting for her to return from the park to put them to bed and fall asleep herself. He had the physical strength to pick up both children and leave, the children would have gone with daddy without a fight. He killed the kids because he missed them, being girls he wasn't going to get custody, he thought they would grow up to be like their mother, and he wanted to hurt his 'ex' and ruin her life. The law, police and detectives seem to have been entirely misogynistic in this investigation. More often than not it's the father. Case Closed.

Paul Mantz, an incredibly good Flyer and one of the best stunt pilots, made the wheels up landing in the beginning of this film. He received the highest salary for a single stunt up until Then and used a B 17, which had been slightly contaminated in a nuclear test and had to be scrapped anyway. Mantz unfortunately died, flying the ”Phoenix”, while filming ”The Flight of the Phoenix” some years later.
