1816 Year Without A Summer -Claire Clairmont Edition
Переглядів 325 місяців тому
Claire Clairmont was a headstrong 18-year-old girl who was determined to get what she wanted. Unfortunately, she learned that getting what you want doesn't always work out in your favor. Claire may not have contributed anything to literature (even though she did write) but without her, we wouldn't have one of the greatest novels of all time! Some of the information in this video came from this ...

Hey MJ, Intriguing video, MJ! The exploration of anthropodermic bibliopegy is eye-opening, especially regarding the ethical implications. It's startling to see how these practices were justified historically. Thanks for presenting this obscure topic so clearly. Cheers, Steven

Hey MJ, You really nailed the details of his wild year in 1816. I appreciated the deep dive into his life and the scandals that followed him, all without losing the plot or pacing. The visuals brought that historical vibe to life, really setting the scene. You struck a nice balance covering both his literary influence and personal controversies. It’s refreshing to see a take that doesn’t shy away from the darker parts of his story while celebrating his genius. Looking forward to seeing what you tackle next! Cheers, Steven

I've done over a decade of research on the origins of "The Raven," and I'm convinced Poe wasn't the author. It was written from a real-life event by Mathew Franklin Whittier, the younger brother of poet John Greenleaf Whittier. Poe merely claimed authorship in a brazen public scam, scooping it by three days and replacing Mathew's pseudonym, "---- Quarles," with his own name. What's relevant for this topic, is that it seems Mathew and Poe had a correspondence in 1849, both privately and through publicly-printed pieces in the newspapers. It seems that Poe was teasing and mocking Mathew about the possibility of confessing his scam. When it became obvious to Mathew that Poe wasn't going to follow through, he published the poem, "On Time" by Francis Quarles, essentially telling Poe, in coded language, "Prepare to meet your Maker." It suggests that Mathew either knew through the grapevine, or had a hunch, that Poe wouldn't be alive much longer. Maybe he just based it on what he knew of Poe's lifestyle; or maybe he had heard something.

@@HistorybytheBook You will find that I discovered it, and no matter how deeply I research it and how much evidence I find, no scholar will touch it with a ten foot pole. Therefore I am entirely out on a limb--which does not necessarily mean I'm wrong.
