In Thattekad, early mornings and late evenings are the best times to observe this bird as it forages in small groups or pairs along forest trails and clearings. Though quiet for most of the year, the Red Spurfowl’s vocalizations become more pronounced during the breeding season, with a variety of calls used to communicate and establish territory. This elusive behavior, coupled with its beautiful plumage, makes the Red Spurfowl a prized sighting for birdwatchers and photographers exploring Thattekad’s biodiverse landscapes.
