Goose's Garage
United States

I started filming my projects in June of 2024. I'll continue to keep this up as long as I can stay interesting!
How I Turned A JEEP Into Furniture!
This video is a visual explanation of how I created home decor from an early 70's CJ5 Jeep. I had the grill and tailgate mounted on the wall in my garage, took one odd look at them and here we are! These pieces sat in a fence row for over a decade, are ridden with bondo and rust. To me, they weren't fit to be put back on the road. However, these reclaimed parts made an incredible, unique piece of homemade decor. Enjoy the video!

This Engine Had A Surprise! 50 HP Jet Jon
Переглядів 1,2 тис.4 місяці тому
In this episode, I take apart the 587cc seadoo engine because I was convinced a piece of hardware fell into the crank case. After searching through the block, and bolting everything back up, I find an off the wall electrical problem! I won't know if it's fixed until after the first test run. Finally, I get the engine in the boat for it's first test fit.
I Made A Mistake. Fixing My Leaking Jet Jon
Переглядів 7 тис.5 місяців тому
This episode I focus on resealing the Jet Jon and doing it the right way. Plus, minor fabrication for relocating the drain plug! In the last episode, I thought I had sufficient sealant to waterproof this boat. It turns out there just wasn't enough there. However, it's something to learn from, and even made it better the second time around!

Going through the process of making my homemade Jet Jon waterproof. Will it float? Let's see.
Fabricating A Jet Jon!

In this episode, I show my plan on tying in the ski to the aluminum boat. Progress is moving right along! DISCLAIMER: This content is not professional advice. How I Designed My Jet Jon
Переглядів 1,3 тис.6 місяців тому
This is the beginning of my project and channel! Be patient as I'm new to the videography and editing, I hope to grow and learn along the way! In this episode, I explain how I got to this point in the project. I'm making it up as I go along, no plans, no CAD design, just creativity and imagination. Any questions, tips, or advice? Let me hear it!
Awesome!
Bearing in front Piston
I've watched a few of the jet boat builds I've noticed that know one is putting the seller on the hull of the jet ski and boat before yoal set it in and then add more after you have tighten the bolts .I'm not knocking your build it's awesome thanks for the video
Thanks! I do go over how I sealed the boat in a different video!
That is NOT a Jon. Jon's are flat bottom, not V hulls
It’s a v hull jon boat bro.
What sealant did you go with and why? I have a junker ski and plan on doing something like this( within the next 20 years) also why did you leave the exta fiberglass from the jet ski? Is there motor mounts there Cool build, music is alright but some Skynyrd would do justice to the build😅
I used loctite marine sealant, as it's not as permanent as 3M 5200 so I (might) have a chance at disassembling it if need be. Extra fiberglass is on since I'm using OE motor mounts, also gone over in my latest video!
Self etching windshield adhesive is what I used. Once it's together, it isn't coming apart easy.
I'd rather put epoxy and fiberglass on the bottom, so there won't be any problems later, but I can't take it apart
3m 5200 is your friend, don’t cheap out on it, use it, use a lot of it. On the plate, on all the bolts and threads.
When I was watching the redo I was thinking I'd use a whole tube or more and lay it in there all the way across that skid plate area and fill it up.
Would some brazing make sense where you need permanent seals?
Great content as usual but honestly what in the world did u really want to accomplish by doing so😂😂😂. Anyways keep up the great job. Much love to ya from Maryland❤❤❤
Flex seal works like a champ
Keep on giving it hell, you will learn alot and people will come to watch the content. Just keep at it and stay positive.
1. Remove the jet ski hull/water intake tunnel and trim away all that extra fiberglass outside of fasteners. It will allow you to see junction between fiberglass and the Jon boat hull and allow better sealing 2. When reinstalling apply sealant to the entire surface where fiberglass mates with aluminum. Unfortunately when using carriage bolts you’ve dimpled the aluminum hull and will have created more leaks. Pan head screws would have worked better
I like it!
Anti seize os what you want for the stainless steel fasterns, youre right, they like to gall and bind up. Im building a jet boat right now too. However i welded up a tunnle and all that, i have to figure out the engine mounting. I was worried about leaks like what youre encountering now... Im sure ill have my own set of problems. Just subed, cant wait to see how yours turns out!
Can I suggest removing the annoying music from the video? Trying to watch your stuff here at work and I have to turn it way down for the music then back up when you talk.
Thanks! Still trying to get the volume balance right
@TheGoosesGarage love the music .and the build so far
I hope that's silicone!?
Love it - keep going:D want to see this thing completed lol
How did you make the square holes that holds the carriage bolt in?
Details of that are in episode 2 of my jet jon playlist!
@@TheGoosesGarage I loath carriage bolts. why did you use them over any other bolt or rivet?
Very cool! I don’t have any feedback but kudos for doing this all with hand tools!
Not sure what using but I would consider using 3m 5200, its a bit more expensive but it works great and lasts longer than standard sealant. Its meant for marine use. Its also sandable and paintable. For the drainplug will that be put in and out from inside the boat?
@erichood5116 loctite marine sealant! I wanted to be able to disassemble if I had to. In the next video, I'll address why I had to test fit the plug from the outside of the boat, and will show how I'll make a work-around to set it from inside. Currently the jetski body is making some clearance issues
3m 5200 on every boot, thread, washer and plate on final assembly. Anti seize on the stainless threads otherwise they gawl and seize.
I think once future episodes of it running and being tested happen, that will draw more people to your channel in general. Maybe do a couple shorts. That might also help.
Gonna follow the build. Very cool. I respect what ur doing, If i can suggest one thing, the same song on repeat is well, a bit repetative. Maybe a couple diff songs instead? I know finding unique royalty free music can be tricky sometimes so i get it. But i think it will help keep people watching the whole video.
Thanks for the input! Comments like this will help me get better with videoing and editing. I'm very new to this, and hope to get better with every post!
@@TheGoosesGarage im a big believer that we all need feedback to improove. I havent made alot of videos myself but i sure do watch alot lol. I noticed the other videos had a diff song, i bet it would be cool to put them together in a loop. Looking forward to your future videos!
Great content. New subscriber here
Welcome!
Nice
Wonderful video, what's the total cost roughly
So far, very inexpensive up to this point. I can cover costs in a later video!
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
