Good luck getting ahold of someone in Billing when they incorrectly charge you.
I’m having an issue where on page 1 of 2 in the label creator window and the “Next” button stays greyed out and never lets me continue, no matter what info I put in for QR Label/Bar code, US Letter/A4 Sheet/Label printer or size tabs. Did I miss a step?

Can Sortly export just the barcode or QR code? The stock size options are very limited, as well as functionality with label printers. Since You have to print as a PDF from an external program anyway, it would make more sense to just export the code and arrange it in a PDF file in the manner I need to and print to whaatever label printer I wish.

how do you check out equipment for a FUTURE date? How do you see FUTURE availability of a piece of equipment?
While we do have date-based fields, we do not have a rental function in the system. For example, you could mark a date that the item is scheduled to be checked out on, but it would not restrict other users from checking it out at this time. I have submitted this as a feature request in our system.
Implementing a rental feature would be incredible. The objective is for me to receive requests for equipment for a future date, submit those requests in Sortly, and have Sortly tell me whether or not the requested equipment is available on that date. This way I don't have to use my Sortly AND my calendar. Thanks for replying @@Sortlyapp

Hello, I was wondering if the Inventory Summary section can give you the total value of your stock per month?
Hi, This would give you the total value in real-time. This report does not have a date function, so it would not be able to show you the past totals for your items. We are working to implement additional reports that would highlight and showcase this information.
Can you pull up a history of all the movements? E.g. you can see the history of movements on different dates/times of items?
Hey John, yes, you can see history for a specific period in time, or use one of our 8 preset options such as this month, last 3 months, last year, etc.

I run a school with Students. Is it possible to assign 1000 devices to 1000 separate students?
Yes, you can do this with folders inside of Sortly. You can create these in bulk or do it manually one by one.
Note that Sortly seems only able to scan bar codes from products sold in the US. It is not able to identify products with European or Middle East/Africa bar codes. Those have to be entered manually. 😞
Hey Alison! We pull data from Amazon and eBay when scanning the codes. If the items exist on those portals we should be able to pull them in. Unfortunately, we do not control the items listed on those portals but are working to get better and more accurate data from these scans.
Maybe I missed something, but creating your own label only generates a PDF to be Printed out after? Are you telling me Sortly can NOT Print the Labels directly? Please confirm
Sortly generates the PDF for you to then print out to the device on your network or direct connected to your computer. You do not print it out in the Sortly app itself.

Yes, under the settings panel, there is an option to build out sheets of unlinked labels which can later be added to the products.

Any reason why you guys don’t have a unique location field where you can have one or more items associated with a secondary barcode that represents the location it is stored? Or am I just missing it?
We have not yet moved into the RFID space which would offer this functionality.
You can use the notes field as a workaround solution for the location. It’s a free text field, where you could type Row/Bin location etc
Do you have version en Spanish?
Currently, the software is only in English, however, you can add item details in Spanish as well as build out custom fields in Spanish.
As we want to print the barcode and stick to assest. so we want to print on PVC label instead of Avery label settle automatic on shortly. Can we customize the label size and format?
Currently, we offer pre-set sizes within the system but hope to expand upon this in the future. In terms of the type of label, you do not need to go with Avery, there are other brands out there that work just as well. This is all preference based.
Specifically
can an item be created without adding the quantity? maybe an item you are expecting for inventory in the future?
You can set the quantity to 0 for the item instead of setting a positive quantity. Then when you receive that item you will be able to update the quantity as needed.
