Hi, what makes super kabuto hard to grow? Is it different than other cacti in its care needs?
Super slow growing and the roots are more sensitive to overwatering. My best advice Is only water when the plant needs it. Don’t water based on a schedule. Feel your plants give them a light squeeze and if they feel soft instead of hard. Then it’s time to water remember these guys live in extreme drought where they might only get water once or twice a year.
very nice green house your cactus so beautiful nice sharing dear
Hi there.. Just found your channel this evening i love cactus very nice sharing dear 150sb wonderful cactus plants 👍💚👍💚👍💚ua-cam.com/video/MaVUpmD2j2I/v-deo.html

@@MammilariaElongataByVâniaLuz Muchas gracias.
Such a great video! I love and collect only astrophytum so it’s nice to see others collection. I started growing my own astrophytum from seeds. Have any tips?
@@lealee13569 I’m planning on doing a video on how I start and graft seedlings. My best tip I can give you on seedlings is don’t be afraid to graft specially the special ones
I love your Astrophytum collection. Makes me want to increase mine as well. 😊🌵☕️
Thanks, and same!! it’s always a balance between getting more or going broke lol
Hey I saw your comment on DLLM Cactus and recognized your page. Clicked through and saw this new vid and that I wasn't subscribed yet. I like your videos! How long have you been at the cactus collection? I have a few adult astros but trying to make myself earn the rest of my collection from seed starting and grafting 😅It's a bit slow but at least it's winter now so I won't even be tempted to order plants 😂Also saves space since only the cacti that are good to zone 7 can stay outside here. Good vibes and have a great day :)
I’ve been collecting my whole life but decided to mainly focus on Astrophytum around 5 years ago. I would really recommend growing from seed and grafting. Even though it’s a painful journey sometimes. I think this year alone that I finally made the push to graft more, I have doubled my collection and seed production.
Thank you I have enjoyed this very much.
Glad you enjoyed it. If you have any suggestions for future videos please let me know
@@Sandhillgarden Hey I noticed you graft seedlings to Selenicereus. I do that too but don't see many others using it as a stock. Wouldn't mind seeing how you like to do them and even what the mother plant looks like. I like them as a stock - they seem slow and steady compared to Pereskiopsis and I've had problems with thrips on Pereskiopsis but not really with the Selenicereus. Do you notice much difference in performance of the scion based on the length and girth of the stock? Do you chamfer the edges of the stock or no for them?
Honestly it’s my first year trying it and everything I know about it is only by trying and killing hundred’s of seedlings. So I don’t chamfer and only straight cut at the very tip. I use seedlings that are about 2 months or less and just place them very carefully on the tip without anything holding them. I live in Florida so humidity is always a problem. Pereskiopsis on the other hand grows like a weeds but I want to throw them across the room half the time because of the glochids😂 Definitely a good idea for a future video!
Yoroi maybe? Or Kikko.
Maybe yoroi but it doesn’t have the fukuryu false ribs.
I don't know, but it's awesome!!!! Peace, Love, Plants!!!✌️💖🌵🪴🌻🌷🌾🌸🌴🌱🍀🌿💐🌳🏜😃👍
Thanks for the love! ✌️💖🌵🪴🌻🌷🌾🌸🌴🌱🍀🌿💐🌳🏜😃👍
Very nice, you have earned a subscriber. Can you do a tutorial on tubercle graft of ariocarpus?
Thank you!! And yes probably until spring though all my Ariocarpus are flowering right now.
@@Sandhillgarden awesome looking forward to it. I struggle with it, did 7 tubercle grafts before they all have survived as in good union and plumped up but no offsets. Enjoy the flowers, man😊
Glad you had minimal damage.
Hope you were safe during the hurricane!
Good idea, Best grafting cactus.
Thank you my friend!
Smart idea with the tool for the spikes
Yeah, it definitely made the job easier 🎉
Niiiiice
the sound is low sir, maybe next time you can try making the sound louder.
@@neooooooooooon thanks for the feedback, I’ll make sure to make the next couple of videos louder. I’m still learning how to make videos 😄
No need to cut the leaves like that
I do it to lower the weight of the plant. specially when cutting most of the roots it’s easy for the plant to fall over. plus it help that plant dehydrate less because it’s leaves have less surface area . But thank you for your opinion 🤙
8 not bad even small greenhouse rock kool thai doing malls
Thats so cool never seen a variegated one before !!
How old is the big astrophytum? It’s beautiful especially with those flowers.
30 plus years I would say. I’ve owned her for 5 years.
Pedro's look good and grow relatively fast man,I'm growing from seed now 3 months in.
Gave a sub. Hope you're good .
what is the one with the yellow top in the back row ?
Astrophytum myriostigma nudum variegated
Pumice is much better for cacti than perlite. It's more expensive, but it doesn't pack down hard like a soil/perlite mix does. Perlite also floats to the top or disintegrates unlike pumice.
Pumice is also really hard to find in my area and more expensive because I have to get it shipped. Perlite is just human made pumice
Nice find . New sub
Welcome!
Beautiful collection ❤ What was the name of the agave you said a liquor is made of ? The second agave you showed I believe.
Thank you!! Agave maximiliana
Yo no sabía los cuidados y aplaste las hojitas de la mía 😓
NOoOOoOOOOoOoO brooooooooo
Es muy hermosaaaa 😍😍
Is that soil?
Ur setup is so dope, im keen to start a tent
I was thinking about doin hydro succulents the other day lol do they convert to sunlight well?? RIP Pop smoke 🙌
This makes me think about doing this to my Tineke too! 😂 Wait it's been 8 months how are these plants bro?
I onestly think that the ficus is a tropical plant and in 100% akadama he'll go dry in a few day if you don't water it often
Update pls...
That's a cute plant
Niiice
So beautiful 😍
hey man, when will you make a new video regarding on the progress of your triangularis?
I am going to need an update on the Ficus Trangularis. Looks cute.
👌👌👌
Hi often do you water them and what advice you can give me if I want it to be an indoor plant? Thanks
Mela Ry It depends on your climate and the soil you’re using. I water all my outdoor trees 1-3 times a day because I use akadama.
What is the growing medium you are using?
Small hard grade akadama
Hi what do you use for the soil? Can you link it?
Small hard grade akadama
hey man, you use a certain pebbles for doing bonsai?
Yes. I use small or medium grade akadama. Depending on the plants requirements. This is a good idea for a future video.
@@Sandhillgarden yep it is, thanks man!
Really amazing!!
Thank you!
