Herbert Marshall's narration was superb. We all know the film version, but the radio play delivers a sense of impending doom which is lacking in the film version.

Someone created Another version on Max. And of course I Saw the T’N’T version as well. Not too bad.

I will say so far this radio drama, sounds really good and of course, my imagination could create the images in my head, which is why I’m going to listen to the story during daylight hours nighttime’s not a good idea. Don’t listen to anything scary. So let’s enjoy it. I will try to share it more.

So ....in the movie the car drives away & we're left at the front door with all the birdies. I've always wondered-- did they ever make it to safty? (Yeah I know it's a movie- but still ..😮) I just subbed. Already have a like on this and will check it out tomorrow. I was a kid & my parents brought me to New York to see this in a movie theater & we were on the balcony. When the lady flashlight in hand opened the door & the birds did their 'thing' I jumped and my shoe fell off!! It bopped some poor person on the head. "OPPS!!!" A person came upstairs & I got my shoe back.

Before television Radio ruled! The audio quality of these shows is due to the fact that once recorded they were cut to analog disc. The later CBS Mystery Theater is difficult to find in good quality because it was only recorded and distributed on magnetic tape. At radio stations they would "bulk" tapes once played my exposing them to a magnet. This erased the whole tape so they could use it again. Bummer, I grew up listening to the CBS Mystery Theater.
