Alex bregman is an excellent player and a very good hitter the problem is with him is he's getting older and his his best is already you know he's already at his Prime and his prime is passing so if you sign him to a 5-year deal he's not going to be of any use to you on third base by the time he's done with that 5-year deal he's okay to sign for a 2 or 3 year contract that's what I would sign with him and that would be it and then trade him for somebody else because first of all it's not fair to Devers to take him off of third base and now where is he going to end up as your permanent DH at 27 years old you can't put him at first base because you already have a very good first baseman and I don't understand why they keep trying to get rid of Casas he's fine where he is and you need his power bat I don't understand these guys they keep trying to get rid of the people that are producing the offense for you you can't rely on just pitching you can have 100 pictures but it's not going to help you win every game you need to have offense also not just pitching so if they're going to sign bregman I would not sign him to more than a 3-year deal at the most because if you sign him for 25 or 8 year deal it's not going to be worth it and he's way too expensive I would never pay him $200 million dollars for him he's not worth it you're not going to get what you're getting from him what he put out in 2022 or 23 or 24 you're not going to get that in the next 3 or 4 years because he is also slowing down and he is losing his prime he's also not a power hitter he's not going to hit 35 or 40 home runs he's a guy who hits between 18 and 24 home runs a year and those numbers are only going to go down as he gets older he's not going to be hitting 20 home runs when he's 35 years old so if you sign him it's a two or three-year deal and that's it and I would never pay him $200 million dollars either

Bregman should play 3B not 2B. Devers should DH. The reason why Boston isn’t going to get frontline FA rotation pitchers is Devers defense. Bregman probably outhits Devers anyway. He’s actually a perfect fit with his RH power bat. Devers is no longer good enough to play 3B period. And unless Casas goes to DH, Devers should be the new DH. Devers agent has already sqwaked saying his client is a 3B. I beg to differ and I’d trade his ass if I hear that nonsense again.
