I'm lazy, I'm "bushcrafting" but hopefully I'm not stupid.
It's been a while that I went for an actual hike. Bear Mountain and Harriman State Park is usually the place I go to test out new equipment and attempt to get back into some shape so I can hike in harder locations. After some health scares, I finally got a chance to get back outside.

Hiking Sawtooth's Grandjean Trail

I'm lazy, I'm "bushcrafting" but hopefully I'm not stupid. In September of 2022, I flew out from NYC to Idaho to backpack the Sawtooths. Unfortunately for me, it was on fire and so was a bunch of other wilderness areas, so I hiked Grandjean Trail instead. After planning a trip to the Pacific Northwest, Jenna and I set forth from Portland Oregon to the Hoh River at Olympic National Park Washington State. I honestly hate mosquitos but on this day whenever it was, there were none. It was cooler I supposed!

You can definitely go. Parking should also be free! Park at field 5 and then walk over! Be prepare for the cold though, it’s going to be freezing by the water! Have fun!

@@wajfar4029 the ferry is a nice ride but I wouldn't go on it during the winter. It's way too cold so you won't be enjoying the views/feeling of the breeze. But yes, you can park at the lot and walk to the light house and if you feel adventurous you can keep walking to town.

I have one ....Can't figure out how to get the snow from compacting and sticking to the plastic wheels ... I tried wd40 , Pam cooking spray, spray on car wax ..... Nothing works ??? Anyone have a cure out there... ???😢
I don’t think you can do much for the wheels. How bad is it getting stuck to your wheels?
It panks onto the wheels ... ( plastic, now this is a single stage ) .... And builds up to where the wheels won't turn and I'm dragging the thing through the snow. Never did this before on previous models .... I did just see a product from 3M to create non stick surfaces on snowshovels, etc.... Other than painting on some kind of liquid rubber, just looking for solutions.

I sunk a couple of beers, in the stream about 75' up from the bridge, some one took them. When wete you up there? FWIW: Trail Creek Lake used to be the cover photo fkr the Idaho State Hwy map. Think the valley and lake burned around 1998 and recovery is still ongoing.
Haha, damn that sucks! I was up there literally almost a year ago in a few days. The nature in Idaho spoke to me and I wish to go back soon! Sorry about your beer!
Wife and I did this climb over 25 years ago (and many pounds ago), and it was beautiful on that ledge. The rainbow was the crowning touch.

Thanks Owen, I got to see some places I'll probably never see in person. For me, one of the things that gets tedious when I'm doing hiking videos is the set up, walk away (or walk toward), go back to get the rig, and finally continue! I can tell you take the time to compose the frame really well so you get natural-looking shots. Really nice channel!
