New Release: Seed Rollers for the Jang!
The Jang Seeder: A Game-Changer for Small-Scale Market Gardening
If you’re a small-scale market gardener, you’ve probably heard of the Jang Seeder. Renowned for its versatility and precision, the Jang Seeder is a cornerstone tool for direct seeding. At our farm, we use both the single-row JP1 and the five-row Jang Seeder to meet our diverse planting needs.
For an in-depth discussion about the Jang Seeder and its applications, check out our podcast episode on Farm Small Farm Smart: The Profitable Mini Farm.
Why the Jang Seeder Stands Out
One of the Jang Seeder’s key features is its customizable seed rollers. These rollers come with varying hole sizes and hole counts, ranging from 1 to 24. Over the years, we’ve primarily used 24-hole rollers, which are ideal for many crops, but we’ve also developed specialized rollers to meet specific needs, particularly for salad crops.
Innovative Rollers for Precision Planting
F30 Roller: This roller features more holes, allowing for higher seeding rates. It’s especially useful in winter when lower germination rates occur due to reduced biological activity.
E24 Roller: Designed for smaller salad seeds, this roller has a hole size slightly smaller than the F roller. It provides the perfect spacing for delicate, smaller seeds and is now available through Active Vista.
H24 Roller: This roller is tailored for even smaller seeds, such as miner’s lettuce. Its precision ensures optimal germination and growth for these crops.
Crop Settings and Customizations
Head to www.roebuckfarm.com/new-release-seed-rollers-for-the-jang-seeder/ for a list of crop settings and configurations we’ve fine-tuned for our Jang Seeder. These settings help us achieve consistency and efficiency across our plantings.
By investing in the right tools and continually innovating, we’ve been able to improve the efficiency and outcomes of our market gardening practices. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your systems, the Jang Seeder is an invaluable tool for any small-scale grower.

These taste like sugar snap peas and are a great garnish for restaurants and beautiful in salads also. The regrowth will fix nitrogen and put a huge amount of residual into your soil fast We plant 1kg of dry seed over 3/4 square m...

Hi yes I am, long handle bars are heavy, take you further away from the cutting point and aren’t as fast or eurgonomic for unloading salad That’s why we made this video It’s key for the drill to be freestyle and used with the right hand for fast lightweight effecincy We are harvesting 10kg in six minutes
