What i love is this is my view behind my Road King 16" bars - best biew ever. 2500 mile trip in 2021, just me and our son. Hope we get another trip in soon together. Good for you guys to do it together. 👊
Riding with my Dad, especially this trip, will always be something I look back on and grin. It was the adventure of a lifetime and it makes my happy to hear you've had the same experience with your son. Ride safe.
Thanks for checking it out. It was a sweet trip. One of the best decisions I ever made was finally convincing my Dad that we should pull the trigger and go. If you have any bucket lists rides in the pipeline, my advice is to do a little planning and take the plunge. Ride safe.
Thank you for watching. It was the adventure of a lifetime and I'm happy I can share it with others. I hope it either brings back memories of your past trips, or encourages you to go on a new one. Ride Safe.
Randomly came across Texas to Alaska on our motorbikes. Hell yes i gotta see this ! Not only was that a trip of a lifetime with your dad , you did a super job of showing the whole trip in 8 minutes. I laughed when i saw you help with the rain gear , it's not a bike trip if you don't get soaked at least once ! Great video brother !
Hey Moe, glad you enjoyed the clip and I appreciate the compliment. This is the first and only video I've ever uploaded to UA-cam. It was an awesome adventure that I can't recommend enough. This year my father and I are doing Sturgis. Ride safe and thanks for leaving your comment, it makes me happy to know that others enjoy watching our journey.
Thanks for watching. I originally put it on UA-cam so that my Dad could watch it. I didn't show him the footage until after it was all pieced together. I'm happy to have gotten to share it with so many people. I hope you and your son make the ride too, it was an experience I'll think back on for the rest of my life. Ride safe.
We will not be doing it this Summer. My father and I are planning to ride Sturgis this summer along with a few of my cousins. If you have any questions about planning your trip to Alasak please reach out, I'll help any way I can. Good luck!
Excellent 👍👍👍👍👍👍. Planning my Goldwing Trike trip (semi Mobility limitations) Alaska ,Seattle Colorado,Oklahoma, Kentucky, we’ll see how things go from there as to what my return trip will be back to Alaska ……Very excited. Thanks SdDriver/Ryder/AkVet
Couldn’t agree more. The Log Cabin was one of the highlights. We were staying at a campsite down the road and weren’t expecting for their to be a full-blown bar with hot food within walking distance. The woman who runs the bar, Laurie Kingston, couldn’t have been more hospitable. If we lived relatively close we’d make the ride regularly.
Thanks so much absolutely fantastic video my has off 281 riding that far with Apes the windshield would love to know more about bikes if you had any problems
Thanks Jim, glad you enjoyed our video. I'm riding a 2001 Deuce (~55,000 miles, fuel injected) and my father is riding a 2007 Heritage (~25,000 miles, carburetor). I changed from stock bars to apes on my Deuce a few years ago and find that riding long distances is much more comfortable; the opposite of what I expected when I made the change. Aside from my apes, the bikes are both generally stock. I have a windshield in the garage but rode without one and my Father rode with his. The wind seemed to be more of an issue with my Father's bike, additionally, when it rained, he had a hard time seeing through the water droplets on both his visor and windshield. Oddly enough, if we were to do it again, I think my Father may consider going no windshield. Before leaving we put on new tires, new spark plugs and wires, in addition to changing the engine, primary and transmission oil. No carburetor adjustments were made on the Heritage. We had zero issues with our bikes.
Thank you, we really enjoyed it. I don't have a map but I've written down below where we stayed each night. With the list below you should be able to draw up a reasonable route. Some days you ride further than you'd expect, some days you don't travel but a few hours. The best course of action was to call the campgrounds when we were a few hours out and see what was available. Good luck, I hope you take the trip, a truly memorable experience and an accomplishment that my Dad and I can forever brag about. Starting in Dallas, TX 1. Dexter, NM 2. Show Low, AZ (Full Hollow Lake) 3. Kaibab National Forest, AZ 4. Lake Mead, NV 5. Through Death Valley National Park to Bishop, CA 6. Through Yosemite National Park to Monterey Bay, CA 7. Through San Fransisco over Golden Gate Bridge to Jenner, CA 8. Through Redwoods National Forest (Avenue of Giants) to Klamath, CA 9. Lincoln City, OR 10. Bellingham, WA 11. Spences Bridge, BC 12. Vanderhoof, BC 13. Kitwanga, BC 14. Hyder, AK 15. Prince George, BC 16. Jasper National Park, AB 17. Coutts, AB 18. Billings, MT 19. Sturgis, SD 20. York, NE 21. Dallas, TX
You cannot legally bring a pistol into Canada. We worked with Skagit Shooting Range in Bellingham, Washington (just on the border) and sent our pistols to Mitchell Supply in Great Falls, Montana. We picked up our pistols on the way back into the United States. For some odd reason you can bring in a sawed off style shotgun into Canada and the shotguns are sold at the Skagit Shooting Range on the US side of the Canadian border. There are very specific rules when it comes to shipping your pistol, call Mitchell Supply in Montana and they’ll set you straight, both gun shops were great to work with. Talked to an American on our trip who said he snuck a pistol into Canada a few years back, was caught, put in a holding cell and fined $5,000, I have nothing but that man’s word to back that story up. Feel free to ask any questions about the trip, I’d be happy to help.
What makes this ride is your father with you I never got to ride with my dad he loved ride he passed when I was 19 he rides with me in spirit I'm 67 now. enjoy your dad brother be safe
David, my father and I both really enjoyed your comment. It’s unfortunate that you lost your father at 19, that’s too young. Both my father and I realize how fortunate we are to have been able to take this trip together. It was an experience neither of us will forget and something we sometimes still can’t believe we did. I’m sure riding brings back memories of your father. You be careful too, wear a helmet, ride safe, thank you for leaving a comment for us both to enjoy.
Wonderful video. Alexis told me about it last week and Rozzana posted it on FB La Familia Cobos. Beautiful landscapes and great song selection. Did you have a GoPro?
Dom bought me a GoPro, I never would have thought of that on my own. In the beginning I was wearing the GoPro too low on my chest. There were some great shots missed due to the battery being low or the SD card being full but overall I'm glad I could share our trip with the family.
What a cool trip to take with your Dad! You will remember this forever!
Absolutely will. I hope you enjoyed the video. It was an awesome trip to share with my Father.
I sure wish I could have done that with my Dad. Cherish it! And yes I thoroughly enjoyed the video of your trip!
Thanks for sharing epic trip. Total distance covered please?
Thanks for watching. I go back and watch it regularly. The total mileage covered was approximately 6,400.

The log cabin in Spences Bridge is great. We ride up there on the weekends good food and riding the canyon is great too

No guns across the border, esp.hand guns, our cops here really frown on that ,ha , only the criminals are aloud to pack guns.
Why would you needto bring a gun into canada anyway, this is canada, not texas, people dont run around shooting each other.
@@nathancobos4685 yes, do not try to sneak a handgun into Canada, you will pay dearly for it.
