Connie Chung’s Leadership Traits as a TV News Pioneer
Connie Chung, the first Asian American news anchor at a major network, shares her leadership advice and the sources of her ambition.
When Connie Chung first worked in broadcast journalism in the early 1970s, she was often the only woman and Asian American in the room. To fit in this “boys’ club,” Chung felt compelled to adopt a “ballsy,” aggressive persona. What helped her career most was her hard work and ingrained ambition. Chung, who recently published a memoir, sat down with NBCU Academy to share how she learned to be assertive and what she feels about her legacy as an Asian American pioneer in TV news.

@NBCUAcademy keep them coming, we are learning ALOT
Hopefully the world never experiences a pandemic like this ever again
Jose what example to all of us. God bless you
This was very interesting! I tried a teleprompter app once for my UA-cam channel but it just constantly moved at the same speed. I had a hard time adjusting my speed to the text motion. I had no idea they could move automatically or have someone move them.
Resonates? NbC viewership is down like 90% over the last 10 years. Lol.... nothing on NBC Resonates with anyone, yall cant even get the weather correct

Steve and Adam do brilliant work and I truly appreciate the amount of preparation for not only election night but the days preceeding and following. Well done guys! 👏👏👏 Your work on the data helps me better understand the trends.
Propaganda numbers man for democrats!!!! Lol lol
Liberals dont think. Thats why they're liberals.
Man was trying so hard to find Hillary and Kamala votes😂 His job is highly influenced by his biased towards the Democratic party
Actually I’d say the opposite. Fascist pig.
Jealous? 😂😂😂
@@yagsyjah why would I be ?? 🤔
@@maku8075 your initial post came across to me as being jealous. 😆😆😆
I watched their whole broadcast last night, it’s really honestly the best election analyst I’ve seen so far. Knows statewide voting rules, how they count, etc. I think he’s pretty unbiased.
Kamala lost
No, she won.
@@vikitheviki in your dreams?
Cringe. What a chump.
Good stuff!
Love seeing the behind the scenes of NBC journalism! Steve is a staple of any election with his board

Yeah Steve, real close....
I am 29 and been watching news since my childhood days and when i attain teenage i used to think that how these anchors are able to memorise & remember so many things and they say it all in one go without any error or mistake while presenting the news in live sessions. Then when grown up more and gradually i got to know that there is teleprompter in which anchors read the news and today when i was watching the one of the popular prime time news show "Vantage" By palki sharma surprisingly while watching the show i thought about the same thing thay how is she is able to present the news so efficiently so i searched about "How anchors read the news" and i got this video. No i'd like to appreciate the anchor Yasmeen vassoughian and the team of NBCU for making such an excellent informative video to explain this anchoring concept. Thanks & greetings from india. 13/11/2024 Wednesday 10:28PM

This is superb! I started Election Night on boring graphics CNN and switched to NBC because of the graphics there hehehe 🎉🎉🎉😂😂😂❤❤❤
this is something I want to get into, I think it would be soo cool
Must be an extremely noisy environment to work in when both NBC News and MSNBC are on air and the journalists and technicians in the background have to work as well
0:18 lol someone learned from ABCs mistake of throwing up random poll numbers before the election
Glad you noticed! We edited this video very thoroughly but obviously didn't want to make the test data seem like the final results.
Hello my name is Biruk Amare i want to be grow journalist please help me
Can anyone tell me how to say “the holy land is everywhere” in Lakota? Spelling and pronunciation would be greatly appreciated 🙏🏼
Dear NBC NEWS-Team, really I'm very impressed about the work behind the scenes of the US Election Day. So much people working engaged hand in hand for such a huge live event! Incredible, and the event was really perfect! I was speechless. None seen before. It would be interesting how many viewers have seen this tremendous live event. Best, IK ❤😊💐🌺🌼
I know this show is trash and cringe, but I’m at such a low point in my life 😭 it very comfort me.
Who writes the script on the teleprompter?
Great question! Typically the anchor or the show's producer/writer will write the script.
im starting to like nbc than cnn now
SOOO COOL!!!
Excellent!
1994 - The awful Clinton years.
Where are the likes or dislikes??

Super cool
I hope this gets resused not only for this election but the selections to come
0:25 the portal thing is so cool! I love the whole set ❤
wonder why they never used it during the actual telecast though
Here we go again folks 😆 This is gonna be a roller coaster ride 🥳
These behind the scenes videos are really interesting. Thank you!
