I got my 1998 XR400R being rebuilt to phase out the Kickstart with a push button to start it, still in the shop for 5 months and waiting for the bore job done then assembled, hopefully be ready by February.
So, your bike ready now? If so, how do you like it? Regards ftom The Netherlands, 2001 XR400R.
@paulh.5691 It is still in the shop and the technician has been out sick, but they were going to get it ready by this weekend.

Picking up the same bike Monday. Closest to showroom I’ve seen a bike that old. Only thing I don’t care for is ours will have a huge 5.8 gas tank on it. And from looking finding a 2.8 to put it back to stop will be impossible.

@@cameronpourmand4099for me it’s the opposite I have one with the muffler cap still in sounds so ducking crisp then the other winout and loses like the torqe sound

Good bike for someone who likes cushy suspension. I'd go faster off-road in mud sand on a trail bike than a track bike. Stiff suspension and no low-end hurts in mud.
